This drive is easily missed by following Google maps. Well worth the detour to experience the great views through the mountains. Spectacular view from the top down the valley. Lots of side roads ,walks and cycle routes through the forest and by the rivers, streams and waterfalls.

Well signposted with good paths, but be advisable to wear good shoes as common sense. Beautiful scenery, & plenty of choices for walks. We took the green route from Monicknew valley which took 1 hour & then the blue riverside route which was half an hour. We stopped to admire the stone bridge and commented that it felt like we were in The Shire.

With only 20 mins drive from home you can explore Slieve Bloom Mountains with a breathtaking scenery. Plenty of nice walking routes for the whole family with plenty of fresh water streams and waterfall (do try the water!) The paths are usually well maintained so it will be accessible for families with small children as well.
