So we came here as it was a walking festival and thought we would join in wandering up the mountains and seeing what central Ireland had to offer. Amazing views and stunningly scenic it wasn't. But making the most of what you have, which are...More

The Slieve Bloom Mountains and surround in area are covered with hiking trails. The trails are marked; but, we were told people do lose track and get lost. The terrain is easy going. The views are wooded, to open fields. There is active logging.

The location is beautiful in rain or sunshine. Some lovely walks for novice to avid walkers. Big enough to get lost in for a few days with few villages along the way.
