A 20-25 walk from downtown, it is a safe and good walking as all offerings in San Miguel de Allende. It is by far a large cluster of contemporary art galleries and design studios. La "Fabrica La Aurora" used to be a raw-cotton factory that worked for almost 90 years. The architecture of the building is very nice, you can... More

This retrofitted cotton factory is now an upscale cluster of galleries, restaurants, home furnishing establishments, etc. On the first Saturday of each month, it offers an open house with live music, small tequila shots, and many open doors. Lots of well-dressed people gather to look at the art and each other. One-upmanship abounds. Lots of fun for all

What a surprising and fascinating array of art galleries and design studios at San Miguel's Fábrica La Aurora! It was an enchanting taste of art and culture. The former textile factory just north end of town offers fine art, along with designer furniture and interior design stores and restaurants. Not to be missed is the Skot Foreman Gallery featuring a... More

A short cab ride from the city center brings you to the home of an old sisal textile factory now converted to many art galleries and boutique shops where you can wander and look at some incredible local art, beautiful home furnishings and local crafts. We had lunch in the little café in the back which was delightful and delicious... More

If you like art and antiques, this is a premier location to stroll through and see exquisite local art. Very relaxing and very steady to park and access. There is a cool coffee shop cafe by the duck pond, and an upscale restaurant near the front. Lots of galleries to explore. Plenty of easy parking too. A lovely place to... More

Enjoyed spending a couple hours walking through all the galleries in this facility. The building's history is very interesting, take the time to look at the photos on the walls of what it was like when it was an operating factory. The art was mostly ultra modern. We didn't dine there, but the restaurants looked very nice.

The fabrica is an old cloth mill that has been converted into a center of art galleries, home furnishing stores and restaurants. All high end shops with lots of beautiful things to see. It's nice they have the cafes because when you get tired of wandering through shops you can rest and eat a bit and then start all over.

This place worth the visit if you like art. They have a great selection of local artists. Also a great place if you are in the market to buy a piece. Wish we had time to spend more time here. They also have great restaurant and coffee shops there.

I am glad another visitor recommended this. We were surprised at the extensive selection of galleries with varied, high quality art. Also some interesting historic photos from when the building complex was a textile factory. The cafe in the back was a delightful break - my veggie sandwich was delicious.

we walked out to Fabrica La Aurora. It was about a 30 minutes walk from Centro, not difficult, and it was interesting to pop into some of the little stores along the way. The revitalization of the building is very nice, as is the collection of art- much of it quite highly priced, some not. Some of the stores sold... More
