Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

“Hic Natus Ubique Notus” and means roughly "here born and in all the world known".
That is the carving above the entrance door to Ignacio Allende's home in San Miguel de Allende (which I think we should translate today as Allende's Saint Michael) - I include a photo. I think that in itself is enough to want to take a peek inside. It is a nice stately colonial house and is certainly a mandatory stop for most school children at some point in their grade school.
Today was the Sunday before the starting of Lent, and in San Miguel the plaza in front of Allende's House is full of families, buying and breaking confetti filled egg shells over each other's head in the Mardi Gras spirit. Walk cautiously and watch for the sneak attacks.

This is one of the most pleasant places we visited in the two times we were in SMA. This time we had an English speaking guide, Carlos, and he gave us insight into the life of the owners of the hacienda and let us know how the servants and slaves were treated as well. Needless to say, he had some really great stories to tell! He was very informative and made the visit far more interesting. The plants and flowers are so beautiful, and the whole ambiance is one of serenity and peace. The coffee/ice cream shop was delightful.

This museum presents, in a very structured and concise way, events that triggered The Independence. It’s very interesting and interactive.

It is a quick historical stop. Built and owned by the richest family in San Miguel at one time. It is a large home. You are only allowed into 2 parts of it. But you can get a feeling for how the wealthy pepople lived back then.

This was very interesting. It provides visitors with a lot of information on the Mexican Revolution as well as showing what a home looked like in that history period. We enjoyed it.

this small museum can be visited in about an hour. it covers the life and times of ignacio allende. the house itself is as much of interest as was the historical displays. much of the information boards are translated o english, which was appreciated. it is easy to get to, directly adjacent to the jardin. there is a small entry fee of 50 pesos per adult.

Empty house with lots of new furniture they try to pass as antiques. Much better things to see in town

We walked through both floors and I can't think of anything interesting. There is some scattered memorabilia but nothing engaging. Skip this one.

An interesting former house that houses a museum with videos (only in Spanish) and artifacts of the Allende period. Only 60 pesos so worth the price!
