About
This 17th-century church was built only after a protracted struggle to gain the land where a church built by Indians had previously stood.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of many beautiful churches in SMA, unfortunately we didn’t find it until our last day. One day a group of people were praying the rosary inside so we don’t want to go in. It has a nice small town feeling to the church. I can only imagine what it would be like to attend mass there.

This church is located right in the heart of the old city. You can’t miss it. It dates back to the 18th century. I loved the exterior facade

The beautiful church dates back to the 18th century and was the first we came across in the picturesque town of San Miguel de Allende.Like most churches and sights in the town it was well signed with details and history in English.

I have a gorgeous painting by a Barcelonese painter of the Oratorio de San Felipe Neri from long ago. The approach used to be through a street market that has been replaced by a plaza with the equestrian statue of Ignacio Allende. Not far from the gas pump either. Don´t ask why, just find it. Most people do not seem to notice the gas pump but is has been a landmark in San Miguel forever!
The Oratorio is a lovely place for a moment´s meditation away from the touristy fray that San Miguel has become of late. Then you can zip around the corner into the big market or search for a quiet coffee corner across the street in one of the zaguanes

For me, this Church dominates the area near the Plaza Civica and the east end of Calle Insurgentes..It is described as a domed baroque structure built in the 18th century..as one enters the oil paintings, the brilliant dome view invites much further exploration and a longer reflection of the beauty that is present..the squares just outside the church offer a variety of food opportunities... there are many times when street musicians, jugglers and other entertainment is present..there are many places to sit and take in this wonderful atmosphere...

Dating back to the early18th century (1712), the church is fully functional with a daily mass. A nice looking church with some sculpture and paintings. Worth a visit

This small but ornate church in central San Miguel de Allende is definitely worth a quick stop to appreciate the architecture and soak up the history.

Another beautiful Church in SMA. The blue sky and the ocre colors are just stunning. The inside is old but quite memorable.

This church is a nice oasis of calm in the beautiful chaos of SMA. We wandered into it while walking through SMA and were impressed with the architecture and beauty.

This was a quiet respite on a hot day. Step inside the chapel, built in early 18th Century, and enjoy a peaceful interlude from the noisy, busy world outside. The east side sports its original pink stone facade while the south side is newer, barogue style. There are supposed to 33 oils by Cabrera but I did not find that many.
