Setesdalsbanen (Setedal railway) originally ran along 87km in the valley of Setesdal, but closed down in 1962. 8km has been preserved and runs today as a museum railway - a major tourist attraction in South Norway.

Nice old train takin you up a valley and beyond a dam to an old deserted village. Buildings are still ther.well worth a ride.

Took the trip with my 3yr old and he enjoyed it. The train ride wasn't too long or short, just enough to enjoy the sights along the way.

What a super trip on an historic train putted by a beautiful steam engine through some amazing scenary which would have been even more wonderful without the rain obscuring the views. So much hard work has been put into getting this train and line restored....More

It is about 38 minutes by bus fro the Bus station in Kristiansand. The bus stops 2 minutes from the trainstation.
