Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went to San Jose del Cabo to experience art and history that Cabos San Lucas just was not providing. We walked the small old town, and walk through many shops. But when we stopped in at La Sacristia we just stayed longer..
The young girl who greeted us, and I wish I could remember her name, but Mr. Victor Florentino Huertas, store manager, you have a gem..

She was kind, not pushy, she walked with us, when we stopped to look at something she would educate us on the history, artist of the piece. It was a joy, we only bought a couple of small pieces, not much. But we enjoyed our visit and appreciating the art...

Thank you for a fun day....

Since we collect pottery, this one a special place for us. The gallery offers a large variety of pottery, including black on black and fine detailed painted pottery. But stop and admire the beadwork items for sale. Each bead is placed precisely to create an unmatched design. Every one is unique. The gallery also offers paintings too. This is a large gallery, three rooms, so take your time and explore the treasures of Mexico.

We were by the Town Hall in San Jose Del Cabo when we stumbled on this Jem of A Gallery. The items in the gallery were astonishingly colourful and beautiful. We spent about half and hour inside and were quite impressed by the design of the pieces displayed. Two days later, we decided to go back and look again. This time we bought a beautiful.colourful starfish.

There are so many beautiful pieces here, but it was extremely uncomfortable having someone follow us around, glaring at us the entire time. If she would have been friendly, while also chiming in with information about the artists we were looking at, it would have been a different story. When we asked how much something was and she gave us a price, we said, “We’re sorry, that is too much for us.” “How much would you want to pay,” she asked. After our suggestion, she replied with a horrible, mean tone, “You might as well go to Walmart and get plastic toys for that amount,” then ran away from us with a very obvious scowl and upset laugh. While we completely understand artists should get what they deserve for their beautiful, hard work, we had no idea how much things were or how high she was starting the bartering. She could have then given us detailed stories of the artist or kindly given us more of an explanation. It was our first day in Baja and had no idea what prices were. Very disappointed she chose that tone with us. Would love to go back if she wasn’t working as the art is amazing.

Very disappointed! Unfortunately they were extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming.

I wanted to browse and was considering purchasing an art piece. Instead of being at least “fake” friendly by making small talk as they kept watch. Both store clerks followed us from each room (practically glaring at us) and handed off the duty to each other so that we were constantly watched by at least one of them. I thought it was strange but when we went into another room and found another customer taking pictures and touching art pieces “un-surveilled@ by the clerks I became angry. I left. Don’t bother to visit.

One of my favorite places in coming to Mexico has always been the City Market in Mexico City. Anyone going to Cabo San Lucas or coming here to San Jose del Cabo needs to put this Gallery at the top of their list of things to see. I have never seen such a great collection in my life of 73 years. This place just took my breath away. It is right near the Mission in the Main Square. Such a beautiful area. I would just warn, keep a hand on your young children and they do have signs posted for no pictures, but ask, there are sections that you can take. I was especially taken by some what I thought were paintings but were pictures made of wool. Those who work there can explain for you and who the artists are. This Gallery will be difficult for handicap especially if with a wheel chair. There are many other Galleries, but this one really stood out.

The good news about La Sacristia is that it's conveniently located next to the main square and the church. It also has a huge selection of anything jewelry and artsy that's you'd like. The bad news is that it's hard to get out without buying something (not sales pressure, just a great selection). This is a good starting point for the Thursday evening Art Walk, or just a casual stroll during the day.

This place has wonderful pottery (Hernandez) mostly unique pieces that you cannot find elsewhere. Their people are very very helpful. They were even willing to deliver a piece to our hotel that was located 20 miles away. Having shopped for pottery worldwide, I can say that this would surely make my "must check out" list. Very close to the church in San Jose del Cabo and easy to find.
