Don’t park it hope cove
Nov 2020 • Family
Beach was stunning but we parked in the car park close to the beach paid for 1hr and was back within half an hour, A few days later had a parking fine for £100 when typing the registration I got flustered and only typed 1 letter of registration as not long passed my test and never used a machine like that before, I still have the ticket to date to show I paid etc there was nobody else in the car park. Seen a few reviews where people are getting parking charges from here when they have actually paid
So think it’s a very flawed system they have in place. I am still trying to appeal it but the council are convinced I owe even with all the evidence.
Don’t park here! If you have to go to hope cove to see as it is stunning try and park elsewhere

Spectacular
Oct 2020 • Friends
We visited on a cold, wet and windy day. The waves crashing on the breakwater, throwing spume 30 feet in the air was spectacular. I can imagine that in the summer this would be an ideal beach for families with young children. On a sunny day it must look beautiful.

Rained off
Aug 2020
We walked from Milton Sands beach to here. When we set off the weather was great. dry, sunny and hot.

Unfortunately in a short amount of the time the weather turned and became very windy with heavy rain, which meant we really couldn't enjoy the beach as much as we would have an hour before, and therefore everyone got rained off.

That said, we did have a little stroll and the dog enjoyed the beach come rain or shine.

Day Out in the Sun, Crystal Water.
Aug 2020 • Couples
It was the perfect day to be honest. The sun was out, there was a gentle breeze and the water was sparkling like crystals.
A beautiful little place we stumbled upon and we loved it. Great restaurant and little pubs. Small & compact. Next time I would be sure to bring my swim shorts.

Very windy day but the cove gave us some protection. Great for rock pooling! Car parking good and toilet facilities were clean!

And seals too
Aug 2020
Lovely walk from Bolberry (only about 4 miles round trip) along the headland. While in the bay we watched three seals playing and observing swimmers

Afternoon at the beach!
Aug 2020 • Family
We came in search of sunshine and certainly found it at Hope Cove - I last came here over 20 years ago and it is still a Lovely lovely Cove, easy parking, Great cliff top walks, great sand for sand castles and water running across the beach - so much fun. Winding roads to get there but well worth it - just a shame that the Lantern Lodge hotel is no longer there... many a good holiday spent there!

Inner & Outer Hope Beaches
Jul 2020 • Couples
Very scenic, walk from one to other. Sadly, Dogs on leads which is a shame, on two beaches, not at all on car park beach!
Great cliff walks either side of bay. My favourite is walking past Thulestone, but Bigbury-on-Sea is achievable!

Fab beach
Aug 2020 • Family
Nearby car park is reasonably priced, £5 for the whole day. The beach itself has a sandy area and a rocky area. This makes it great for rock-pooling and exploring. Also great for going in the sea without standing on stones! As the tide came in the small waves were great for the kids doing body boarding. Lovely atmosphere here. Plenty of places to grab a bite to eat and a drink nearby. Also worth the very short walk to see the harbour area too.
