Nice stop
Sep 2021
Cafe OK. Good choice of cakes. The staff are nice and helpful. Not much outside seating really considering the amount of space they have there.

So much for everyone to enjoy and leap into action
Aug 2021
Visited with a friend; just so much to enjoy and explore in a small area; a pebble/sand beach with gentle waves overlooking the Isle of Wight; lots of water activities enjoyed including paragliding, canoeing etc. cliffs to explore safely topped with open grassy areas, ideal for walking, playing family games, dogs; brilliant, well-managed nature reserve with interesting trees, plants, flowers, birds and insects happily around; good cafe facilities with friendly, helpful staff. Car parking adjacent to cafe, easy access.

Parking charges are too high
Sep 2021
Lepe is a little off the beaten track, but we were surprised such a nice place wasn't crowded, or busy on a lovely saturday afternoon; The car park was pretty empty, but maybe the parking charges explain it.

We stayed just over an hour and were charged £5 to leave, which seems steep, out of the main holiday season in September, and considering we just admired the view.

A must visit
Sep 2021 • Couples
Was unsure whether to visit due to there being so much to do in the New Forest area. Went on the advise of someone and it certainly didn't dissapoint. There is plenty of parking which may seem steep at nine pounds but that was for a full day and I felt worth it (I hate feeling ripped off)
There are a number of walks aswell as the ruins from D-Day and Normandy landings along the beach which is was a mixture of sand and shingle. The cafe on the beach was also good and reasonable in price. I would have visited again if I had stayed longer.

The splendid Lepe loop
Sep 2021
We started at the main car park and walked along the beachfront, an enjoyable experieence exchanging chit chat with the few people on the beach and watching some oystercatcher feeding on the high water line literally 3m away. Stunning. as we proceeded along the beach it got slowly more difficult but no impassable, both pensioners, and we were rewarded by the beautiful views of marshes and boats. We arrived at Lepe Road and carried on up the hill to the well way-marked turning right into the woods and up over meadows and more woods experiencing a remarkable silence but for the buzzing grasshoppers. It had not rained for a while so all the paths were dry. The whole walk was clearly marked and we took about 3hours 15mins, not hurrying. This was on a hot day in early September. The only slight quibble is that paying for parking the screen is very, very, difficult to read when the sun is on it. Otherwise a super walk with varying paths.

Extortionate Car Park
Aug 2021
Parked in the westernmost car park today (the one with no facilities). Stayed 4.5 hours or so and were charged £9.00 to leave!

Absolute robbery, this place never used to be this expensive and won't bother again, there are far nicer places along this coastline.

In addition, the much-vaunted restaurant on the main beach was, once again, not open other than a hatch for which there was a very long queue.

Hi, Many thanks for your review of Lepe. We are sorry to hear that your visit to Lepe was not as you had hoped. We apologise that you found The Lookout was only operating a takeaway kiosk service when you visited, this was due to severe staff shortages. With regards to car parking please be assured all money that is raised from car parking income, is reinvested back into the park and allows us to ensure that the park is maintained to a level that our visitors expect and so that we can provide our visitors with many varied options to make the most of their visit - from walks and play areas to children's trails and events. Best wishes Laura (And The Lepe Team)

A fresh day by the sea.

Easy parking and a nice cafe with views across to the Isle of Wight. Great weather for it too. It was quite busy but we didn't mind. Worth a visit.

Nice walks and fantastic views of the Isle of Wight
Jun 2021
We really found Lepe Country Park by accident. A large car park which is works on number plate recognition so you simply enter through the barrier and pay at one of the pay stations in the car park when you are ready to leave.

The main attraction for us were the amazing views of the Isle of Wight just across the water. You could see the Needles at the western end and a good proportion of the coastline running east and when we were there the weather wasn't great. Certainly with binoculars you could see cars on the island.

The beach was ok but there were very pleasant walks along the cliff top. We enjoyed a lovely coffee and biscuit in the modern, spacious and well run cafe

Well worth a visit and a credit to Hampshire County Council.

Lovely beach, walk, playground and cafe
Jun 2021
First day of our holiday and with slightly wet weather we decided to visit Lepe. The beach is great for searching for shells - bring wellies or beach shoes though as it's full of little water pools. We did a loop up to the playground which was great for toddlers to run around in (gated) and then a walk along the top down to the beach and back around which was just about right for little legs. Finished off in the cafe which has a lovely view of the estuary, and did nice food and drink.
