The Zocalo of Puebla is nice, but it has changed over the years. A few years ago it did not have that many Tourist buses so it was more like a real city Zocalo. Now it is packed with Tourist Buses which make the city seem a little fake.

The Zocalo was a magnificent place to snag a coffee and relax in Puebla. Superb photography opportunities abound with the church and the artwork. Very nice!

The Zocalo is very busy but accessible! We went several times to eat, and to buy some traditional candy. We also took the puebla bus tour which was excellent!

We love going to the zocalo. Great tip: On the Zocalo there is a McDonalds and, you can get up to the terrace for a great view for the price of a coffee or an ice-cream. :)

The Zocalo is literally in the center of town and in the center of local life. Puebla's street grid system is centered there. It's an appropriate and inevitable starting and/or ending place for any downtown touring. The square is always filled with people and vendors. It is surrounded on three sides by cafes perfect for people watching and a restorative,... More

The zocalo is a great place to start your exploration of Puebla. It's a pretty and relaxing square with fountains, trees, statues, etc. The official tourist office is across the street and the cathedral is on the other side. There are dozens of churches, museums, and markets within just a few blocks.

The Zocalo had great views, great restaurants, access to shopping and local commerce, connections with locals, museums, the tourism and tour offices, beautiful cathedrals, and all of the city tours left from that location. It was an excellent place to know what was happening in the city.

One of the most beautiful in Mexico. Plenty to eat, see, people watch. Interestingly, the square is on the side of the church. There are lots of pretty streets around Puebla. Find a walking map online and spend a couple of hours walking around.
