According to the sign, this is the worlds smallest volcano. It only cost 10 peso to go in. Don't be fooled by the outside stairs thinking that you are only going to peer inside the volcano. They actually have stairs that lead down into the crater. There is a cool little waterfall around the inside part of the crater. I overheard a guide state that the waterfall is natural, but I doubt it. You can be in and out within 10-15 minutes. There was an older gentleman outside of the park area selling homemade ice cream for 7 pesos. He had a cheese ice cream, similar to cheesecake, which was delicious.

For us - living in Puebla for a certain time - it was nice to visit this volcanito. It is something special, standing there in the middle of the suburbs and it is fun climbing into the hill and image yourself where the tunnels go and how everything is connected with each other - even this tiny volcano. Maybe especially nice for kids

First of all, it´s not that easy to find because it´s far from downtown Puebla. Try using google maps, because we asked a couple of people and they didn´t know the place or what it was.
When you get there, you go up a latter and then you go down inside the “mini volcano” (don´t wear a skirt), where you can stay for a while. I heard there was a small cafe, but the day I went, it wasn´t there. There´s a little cascade like fountain, and that´s pretty much it.
I´m not sure what to say about the topic regarding being a mini volcano because I´ve heard from some people that “it is an inactive volcano”, and some that it´s not.
I wouldn´t recommend to make a trip out of it, but if you´re curious and have some spare time, go take a look.

The Cuexcomate volcano is interesting for a short visit, but realize that it is out in one of the suburbs of Puebla in the middle of a neighborhood that does not get a lot of outside traffic. If you take a taxi here it would be smart to have the cab wait for you while you see the volcano -- it should take no longer than five or ten minutes and it will save you the hassle of waiting for another taxi to drive by.
As of March, 2013 the stairway to the top of the volcano is closed off for repairs so we could only view it from the bottom.

This little gem is tucked away in a neighborhood and has a small market attached. It also has several cool jungle gyms / play structures on the grounds.
It's a quick stop and reasonably priced. The question is, is it the worlds smallest volcano or largest spring...don't know but it is worth the stop. My kids really liked it.

In the northwest side of Puebla is located the “smallest volcano” which local call it. ; But this is actually a geyser created by the eruption from Popocatepetl volcano hundred years ago. It’s located inside of the municipal park and access to the Cuexcomate for a small fee. Descending stairway you will find yourself approximately three stories down inside the chamber, where there is an underground waterfall. Also you will see wonderful characteristics and mineral deposits throughout.

I was in Puebla and saw the site on the map, it is also call Volcancito, you have to take a taxi and hopefully the driver will know the location....is a cool visit and it is an extinct crater from the towering volcano a few miles away....worth the visit just to understand how it works.....takes a few minutes to visit and take pictures but worth it.! Very recommended if in Puebla.

This is the smallest volcano. The day we visited it was a weekday. There really not much to see here. It looks more like a huge granite rock and not so much a volcano. The garden next to it was very clean and well kept. Este volcan es el mas pequeño pero realmente no hay mucho que ver. Fuimos entre semana y no habia gente. El jardin que esta adjunto esta muy limpio y bien cuidado.

It's not that great, I think it's all mounted I didn't end up satisfied with the place, the people I the other hand, it's really polite and three guides speak in a kind of singing tone that it's really amusing,. I recommend this place only if you're close by that zone, we traveled by bus like 4 hours changing buses to get there and again 4 to get back and I believe it wasn't that great for the effort

Neat little volcano to climb into. Enjoyed the temperature change and tbh it’s a bit of a novelty but worth it if you are in Puebla.
