Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The biggest short fall of this beach is not this beaches fault. It has pebbles instead of golden sand. It is a lovely long stretch of clean easily accessible water side beach but without sand it's not really a level 4 or 5 beach.

Myself and a friend went to Lee on Solent for her birthday treat. Weather was rubbish but we didn't mind that at all. We're both in wheelchairs, I've got a power chair and my friend is in a manuel chair. Luckily we had a couple of support workers with us. We looked at 2 charity shops but couldn't go in because there was a step at the doorway. The one I wanted to go in was for revitalise, raising money for disabled people needing respite, no couldn't get in there either. So we walked along a bit further and I spotted a gift shop, great I'll go in there, went about 6ft in and couldn't get any further!! Managed to find a little cafe we could get into without issues apart from a few chairs and a table had to be moved lol.The food was basic but very tasty and hot. The young lady behind the counter was a little diamond and made sure we were ok. Thanks to Anna ( the name is on the receipt) at The Bluebird Cafe, you made a bad day much more enjoyable. My opinion, if you're in a wheelchair avoid L on S & you dont get disappointed and waste your time.

A good walk spoilt by inconsiderate dog owners. I along with a number of other walkers were constantly attacked by dogs, jumping at us or trying to attack us. The owners were too far away to control them. The owners should e made to put them on leads or better still kept away from the public. They are invading the beach and spoili it for the rest of us-

I would say that I much preferred Hayling Island than Lee on Solent. Having said that, this was just up the road from where I was staying and had I of chosen the venue for breakfast and parked in a place where o didn’t need to worry about the limited 3 hours that the first car park I went to gave me, I probably would’ve started out on a much better footing. I would take correct foot ware if I return or use the little walk way path that takes you out to the sea without stepping on the cobbles.

A lovely stretch of beach t walk along in the dreary winter months as they have a long concrete promenade. The wind whistles of the sea so it's nice and bracing. The local shops are a stone's throw away for refreshment and the views out to sea are marvelous.

Go all the time, walk, swim, coffee and food from The Shack, the best beach cafe anywhere. Fish and chips from Karen's Plaice, and charity shops. Views across to the Isle of Wight, dig friendly, friendly place, not a rip off. My favourite seaside place.

A stone, pebble beach with a grass bit above that can also be used. A few cafes and ice cream parlours on the front in the town area.
Free parking can be had in the streets away from the front. The road above, along the beach is now pay meters.

Beautiful beach. Spent most days visiting while on our holiday to Gosport. Lovely little cafe called the shed. Two lovely ladies run it and they were great. There cakes where all home made and tasted amazing. Just a lovely little place to grab a coffee and a cake and watch the sea. Perfect little place and plenty of parking for campers and motorhomes. Toilets were decent considering they a public in manned ones. No hight barrier to get in. No overnight night parking but a nice place for a day visit

I love it down here on the coast. Lee on Solent is a lovely place to visit, with so much to see. The beach is pebbles, but a few towels sort that out. Don't forget your flip-flops. Great views out across the solent, to the Isle of Wight. Some good restaurants nearby too well worth a visit.

Such a shame would be gorgeous but constant planes taking off and landing ruined this area noise pollution and constant airplanes circling make the experience unpleasant and unhealthy

Hi
My family and I are a bit confused as to where, exactly, are dogs allowed on the beach during the restricted period.
Have seen all the "No Dogs" notices and did not realise that they are allowed on some of the beach, but where ??
Written 10 July 2018
We always go to the east end of the beach, by the sailing club and Browndown. There are always dogs on the beach here, being walked and in the sea. Hope this helps. You can park here too.
Written 12 August 2018
Can you park a motorhome here ?
Written 16 May 2018
Yes, it’s a great place for motorhomes. Two big car parks right on the seafront, there are usually several big ones there.

Is the beach/water conditions suitable for swimming in? (Any strong tides to be aware of?)
Written 24 August 2016
Both Lee on the Solent and Stokes Bay; which is the next Beach along are popular with swimmers. The beaches are fairly clean but the Solent is a busy waterway with a lot of shipping including Cruise ships, so there is always the possibility of things going overboard.
If you have young children 2-8 years old then Stokes Bay has a very good Free splash area with water jets, a water slide and an adventure play area - you just have to pay to park the car.
