We stopped for coffee but was so impressed we stayed for lunch. The staff were friendy, polite & very helpful. We ordered the crayfish sandwich & dressed crab salad. both of which were delicious, so fresh & nicely presented. We would highly recommend both dishes, especially the dressed crab which was the best we have tasted.. We will definitely be back soon to try the delicious looking cakes.

Came across this cafe whilst cycling round East Anglia. Delightful place to take a break with great ambience. Cafe staff were very helpful, providing good service. Tea and cakes were well worth stopping for.

OK cafe with an amazing barn attached. Stopped for tea at the cafe, which was ok, nothing special, but the barn was through a door at the back and very impressive. Would have been good to have some history, but the size of the barn and its obvious great age could speak for themselves. Nothing else to see, so a quick visit, but worthwhile.

Excellent food and amazing home made cakes. We stopped for some food whilst on a walk on the coastal path and the food tasted lovely. The cakes were all amazing and there was lots of choice. It's definitely worth a stop if in the local area

Called in to The Dunes for a light lunch - a very very good crab sandwich! Good service and location. The barn is well worth a quick look as well. Plentiful parking, indoor and outdoor seating.

Good selection of cakes. Main menu is very reasonably priced. We have breakfasted there a number of times, great after a beach walk nearby. Dogs allowed inside.

Dunes cafe now at Waxham barns after moving from their successful cafe in Winterton. Great food but coffee was luke warm.
Will certainly visit again as we liked the food, the excellent service and atmosphere.
We sat outside in a sheltered spot as the day was sunny although cold, however the restaurant inside looked very pleasant and ok for a rainy day.

Stopped for breakfast and the food and service was fantastic: however the coffee not so : machine dispensed and bad.
Everything about this place is so good , but seriously let down by not having an espresso machine .
Won’t put me off revisiting- but will skip my morning coffee here .
Easy fix though so hope the owners can look at this .

After visiting The Dunes Cafe at Winterton beach and the cafe at Waxham Barns previously, we were pleased to see that The Dunes had now relocated to Waxham Barns. The cakes on offer were as appealing as always and the service was quick and friendly. A perfect place to visit for refreshment when in the area and particularly when visiting Sea Palling beach.

Does anyone know of a Bridge Farm that used to be in this area? I am doing some family research and my great grandparents - Robert and Charlotte Maria Green - used to own it/live there. I'd be grateful if anyone knows anything!

Could anyone give me a rough idea how much it costs to hire the barn for a wedding?

Sorry have not been able to get an answer. I would rather have my reception at Poppyland restaurant just a few miles from Waxham. You will find it will be a lot warmer, it is also a converted barn. Hope this helps.

Anyone know if you can get public transport to Waxham Great Barn from Norwich please?
The nearest public transport is the Sanders #34 bus from Sea Palling about 1 mile from Waxham. This operates between North Walsham and Stalham, 2 or 3 times a day each way Mon-Fri and once on a Saturday. There are fairly regular connections to Norwich from Stalham or North Walsham by bus (and train at North Walsham)
