We only stopped for breakfast (which was delicious) and then decided to visit the pioneer village. Three hours later we were still there. Absolutely fascinating and the added bonus of a train ride!

Awesome layout, historical buildings, historical references - very informative and educational. We spent a few hours and enjoyed every minute - being transported back in time to "pioneering days" - loved it, and the miniature train ride was the icing on the cake!!

A great display of NZ houses through out its history. We had a great time wandering around looking at NZs architecture that has been set out like a village. Take a packed lunch and make a day if it.
