This rown has an amazing beach and almist no long stay accommodation available. Lots of beach bars with great food and staff. Night life extremelyl limited and what is happening shuts down early. Needs more development.

Good accommodations and restaurants. Not toughed by the American chains as of yet. Still has that small town appeal.

very dusty streets, too many tacos, not much to do, mosquitoes (Zeka virsus), waves too big for swimming. Really, why would you bother with this place?

This is a very busy Mexican town with lots to do. Many restaurants and wonderful beaches. You can shop downtown or just walk around and people watch.

This is still a relatively unspoiled corner of Mexico (I suspect there aren't many left, on the coast in particular). A quiet village with cobbled streets, a lovely beach with palm trees, not too many hotels (but still a good choice) and the right amount...More

My husband and I stayed in Barra but preferred the beach at Melaque so took the bus for 9 pesos to the beach at the very north end of Melaque. We didn’t tour much there... just enjoyed the beach with no undertow. It was much...More

We spent three days visiting Melaque. Lovely weather and a nice beach plus a few neighboring towns make Melaque interesting.
