Having heard a lot about Lamorna Cove we drove down for a picnic. The drive down was beautiful, a lovely valley, very Cornish. But the cove at the end was a disappointment. Huge boulders, a pier or sea wall broken in half and sticking out of the sea. Nothing else really. I wouldn't bother visiting when you have Porthcurno up... More

We walked to Lamorna from Mousehole - a nice walk along the coast path, and a lovely walk back to Mousehole on the footpath across the fields. A lovely walk. However we were disappointed with Lamorna itself. The harbour wall seems to have collapsed - and the one cafe was very dated and unappealing, with grumpy resentful looking staff. We... More

Such a pretty place, small harbour car park. The cafe was busy on the day we stopped, plenty of outside seating. We had a take away pasty which was delicious. Note the oublic toilets are closed, you can use the toilet at the cafe.

We were down for a week and we had lovely weather, the cove was lovely to spend the evening down watching the sun set and a coastal walk. The cafe was shut very early which was surprising as the weather was lovely and it was busy. Definitely worth and visit even tho the drive isn't great to get there,

Lamorna Cove has conjured up stories of writers, poets and the like inspired by the place. I find that hard to believe. The valley is a different story but the cove is a depressing place with boulders of granite piled high on one side and nothing to see on the other. Walk the valley and forget the cove.

It's a beautiful place and I could happily sit for hours watching the sea. However, I object to being made to pay a private owner for the privilege of sitting on rocks watching waves. It should be noted that the car parking charges are not enforceable

I think people are confusing Lamorna Cove with this part of the country and the general surrounding area of the cove. The cove is dull and truly uninspiring. The neighbouring areas on the other hand offer everything you need with gorgeous vistas, the beautiful country side and of course the picturesque villages and their restaurants. Your time is much better... More

Lamorna Cove is privately owned and has a very nice cafe and ice cream parlour. A lovely stream comes down from the valley above and is a good place to see Sea Trout. Quarter of a mile up the road is a good pub with excellent food, The Lamorna Wink. You can walk past the cafe and take a stroll... More

One of Cornwall's most inspiring area's to explore and enjoy, a once proud working harbour, which sadly has had parts of the protective wall destroyed by the elements, and doesn't look like it will be restored to it's former glory in the foreseeable future, yet still a marvellous spot to visit on the Cornish coast, but be warned of the...
