Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Impressive monuments and the scale is immense, worthwhile taking the off beaten track between Hue and Lang Co, you will need a GPS as did not see any signage, I don’t think it’s supposed to be a tourist attraction.

Flamboyant, spectacular, magnificent. A fierce competition of tombs for sheer beaury and construction design. The way to Hue, where these elaborate burial structures, are located can be a tricky trip. It's off the beaten track, the roads are narrow, a situation made more difficult by the ongoing construction of more and more tombs. IT'S ALL WORTH IT. Our February visit was during the corona virus situation, leaving Vietnam UR fEBRUARY WAS almost tourist-less, so we had the place to ourselves and the deadly departed. A few construction workers were present but work was not busy. Maybe, partly due to the staggering cost of the construction that only the moneyed ones can afford the the tombs. Vietnam's tourism office should push this incredible sight, travel agencies should arrange more tours, to lure vsitors to this unusual attraction. The CITY OF GHOSTS as it is now called is not ghostly at all. It is a masterpiece of design, a grand memorial to beloved family members who have crossed the bar, symbols of reverence and affection for departd loved ones.

If you want to see something unique, this is the place to go!!! Unfortunately no tour operator offers that trip because of the narrow streets but I am sure it will become the new destination in the Huế area.
I have written more about my experience there and how to get there if you look for "Hue Motorbike Vacation - Day Tours" on TripAdvisor.

This was simply one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The grandeur of some of these tombs is staggering... some cost up to $300,000... with a big portion of the locals having moved abroad to work and send money back home to pay for their family tombs (some have spaces for family members that haven’t passed away yet). When I first arrived, I could only see a portion of the tombs and thought “this is it?!?” But as I went deeper, the tombs seemed to start expanding in every different direction and soon you are struck by the sheer magnitude of this place and the beauty it holds.
Do go early in the morning to help avoid the heat of the day as there is little shade and you can spend hours here. It’s only a bit more than an hour away from Hue, and remember that there is no defined “path” between tombs. You basically walk from tomb to tomb and walk on very sandy and uneven surfaces. Remember to wear footwear appropriate for a sandy path. Would be difficult for those with walking disabilities because of the sand and need to climb on or over small concrete walls (two feet high maybe?). It isn’t the easiest walk, but it’s so worth it. I wish this place was more well known...

This is my highlight of Vietnam, to date. Bizarre, enthralling, no tourists (or locals) at all. You’ll have this place to yourself. Difficult to get to, use google maps, but put in the Vietnamese ‘ Nghĩa trang An Bằng’ to get you to where you want to be. The area is vast and easy to lose one’s way, but try for early morning / late afternoon for spectacular photographs of these extravagant, expensive and huge mausoleums. In my opinion, celebratory and OTT, not at all ghostly or macabre. I loved every minute of wandering around here. Go to this place before it becomes the drawcard it deserves to be.

This An Bang cemetery in Hue-Vietnam. It is about 30km south of Dong Hai Hotel. It is known as one of the most beautiful and extravagant cemeteries. Vietnamese abroad have sent money home to build their ancestors' tombs. They compete against one another to built the biggest and the most beautiful tombsThey believe the bigger the tombs, the luckier and richer they would become. Some of the tombs could cost $70,000 or more.

This is the duty of department of tourism. Why don't they put this place on Tripadvisor? Why does nobody care? This is amazing place, in the other word, it is kind of tourist destination.

This place is probably the most unique cemetery in the world. Endless numbers of monumental, ornate tombs pepper the area. I explored well over two hours and I'm sure I didn't cover it all. Intermingled among the tombs are the homes of local people. Some of these tombs are quite new and some still under construction. I've lived in the area for over a year now, and this was my first visit. I kind of left here thinking now I have seen everything I could in Vietnam. A bit difficult to get to from Hue, so it might be worth getting a driver or guide. I was with a Vietnamese friend from the area and he told me a lot of stories about the local people and how and why they build tombs such as these.
