This is an excellent Long Beach. Not many folks here at anytime. Great for walking long distances, and swimming is no problem. I am not a Great swimmer and had no issues with the waves or rips. plus ,I like the fact that it is not crowded and it has two beach clubs at the start of the beach. You can get a day pass for around 250 pesos, and eat and drink that all up.But you don’t have to go to the club, he beach has their own entrance at the end of the same road, easy and safe parking. Two policemen always patrolling area as well as life guards. Highly recommended

The beach is beautiful and clean. It was almost empty most of the days during the day. I stayed at a hotel which has a beach club on Bacocho so I went for a swim/dip daily. The beach is swimmable on some days when the waves are not too high. I was able to do it 50-70% of the time. There is a turtle release place right on the beach. The Coral Beach is within 5-minute walk around a few rocks. Overall I give 5 starts to the location. Coconut and Villa Sol Clubs are right on the beach. The Villa Sol club is the way to go in my opinion.

Great service and food at Pez Gallo restaurant in the Villa Sol beach Club. Your entrance fee is good for food and beverage on the club. Great pool and superb beach front. Happy hour on the bar from 12 to 1 and 4 to 5.

The turtle release and sun set were the highlights.
Waves are too strong for kids to play in. It's nice how very little ppl are there before the activity. The drive there was about 20min from zicatela. Also taxi to get back doubled in price after we did turtle release. There is nothing near beach so make sure you're prepared with drinks, snacks.

Took a taxi out to Coco's beach today from Zicatela and we came across an abandoned (what look to be) resort with huge water slides, pools etc right on the beach. Can anyone enlighten me on what it was, what is was called and when it was in use etc?

Cheers

You've likely read prior reviews, so you know what a nice, secluded beach this is. We went numerous times during our month long visit and highly recommend the location. In addition to the beach, there are two beach clubs.

We prefer, and recommend, Club Villasol. Entry fee is 200 pesos per person but this goes towards anything you eat or drink during the day. There's are two pools, a pool bar, lots of beach and pool chairs, good umbrellas for shade, nice bathrooms, a really good beach menu, a large expanse of shallow pool for infants, an adjacent restaurant where you can work off your 200 pesos if you'd prefer, and immediate access to the beach. This is good for a walk or, if you walk to the left as you face the ocean, a swim on the public beach by the second club that is somewhat protected by rocks against the waves and undertow. I was careful in joining the twenty or so people already swimming and spent over a confident hour splashing around. Just check the conditions against your ability before you jump in.

You won't have any trouble working off your entry fee. The menu is surprisingly good. Try the ceviche, the chicken skewers, or the stuffed avocado. All good and reasonably priced. For better availability of the best beach/pool chairs, go early or avoid the weekends.

On to Club Coco, which I don't recommend. You either have to either pay 175 pesos each as a cover charge with food and drinks ON TOP of that, or pay 450 pesos each that covers food or drink. Yep, 450 pesos - 900 for two people. Re-read the charge above at Club Villasol and wonder why anyone would go to Club Coco to begin with. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding at the desk, we paid the 175 pesos each thinking we'd work off the amount with food and drink. We were very upset to find this not the case. Totally our error due to poor Spanish but I do wish they'd been more explicit in stating their exclusions. Left us with a bad taste.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the review and the range of beach options available to you at Playa Bacocho. Enjoy!

The beach is pristine and beautiful and seemingly endless. Great spot for walking. The water is clear and perfect for swimming. The beach club Villa Sol is a great place to while away the day, have a little bite to eat, shower off after swimming in the ocean and relax in a hammock.

The bad news: almost nothing there. The good news: almost nothing there.
If you want to get away from the crowds of Playa Zicatella, this could be the place for you. This morning I walked the whole length and saw 1 other person. Wild surf- not safe to swim- all to yourself.
At the far eastern end is Playa Coral, gorgeous in initself, and then over the rocks to Bacocho where it is only a 20 minute walk to the end at the point. You can climb up the rocks and get to a path that takes you further west to another beach if you are adventurous.
There is a private club at the eastern end (part of the Posada Real) and next door a club with pools and a restaurant (Club de Playa Villa de Sol) you can get free entry if you buy food or drinks ( 100 pesos per person). This is also near the place that they release turtles daily during the right season (now in November).

To get there, you can find a path down to Playa coral near the Hotel Viva Mexico- a bit steep and marked private- and then you have to climb over the rocks to Bacocho. Or, walk (or take a taxi) down the road just past the Posada Real and walk though the Club de Play Villa Sol or go another 50 meters to where the road comes out to the beach. Take your own water.

Angela, my wife, is passionate in her love of turtles and this was an opportunity we couldn't pass up. There was an informative talk and a q&a session and then it was time to release the turtles! For the modest sum of 100 pesos/person we received a bowl carved from a coconut containing a 1hr old turtle and were instructed on how, where, and when to release it. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in environmental issues and wildlife preservation. One cannot have this experience without cheering the little guys on their way to an uncertain but perhaps wonderful future.

This far beach is located after Carrizalillo and Coral Beach, you can take a very long walk all way to Punta Colorada (Red Point) and hike it if you want, behind the point is a little lagoon where you can spot small crocodiles.
Waves break very fast and currents are strong...not safe for swimming.
They are two beach club's Posada Real and Villasol where you can use toilette facilities or have a cold drink.
Good option for beach lovers(almost empty)
