Overview
More
In the heart of Ireland, just over 1 hour from Dublin lies the town of Kilbeggan, home to the world's oldest distillery, established in 1757. It is the quintessential Irish whiskey distillery - whitewashed walls, weathered slate roof, brick chimney stack, creaking timber water wheel, even regular ghost sightings. This is no mere "visitor centre" but a real working distillery run by a team of young enthusiastic craftspeople (and a few wise old heads too), skilled in the traditional ways of making Irish whiskey. Open 7 days (except during Christmas and New Year). Whiskey Bar. Gift Shop. Free parking.

The whiskey is delicious, and the tour was fabulous. Knowledgable staff and they did a beautiful job setting up the museum part while still keeping the distillery working. The cafe they have set up was great!

It’s a tour that tells you about the tradition and how they make Irish Whiskey. It has a taste test at the end. The tour lasts about half hour. It was cool to learn.

Jessica was an amazing tour guide. Took the first tour of the day and there were only 3 of us. Get there early and you don’t have to fight the tour buses. Great history and she really knew about the whiskey.

We stopped in the distillery as it was perfectly placed along the route during our return journey from Galway to Dublin. Unfortunately, we arrived right after the 10 am tour, and were unable to stay for the 11 am tour (we had to get to...More

Eight of us visited Kilbeggan Distillery and everyone of us enjoyed the tour. We were shown how whiskey was made in the 1700’s as well as how Kilbeggan is distilling whiskey today. Our guide was both friendly and informative. The Distillery itself is a beautiful....More

We had a lovely Distiller’s tour led by Tracey and with a very small group. It started out in the museum part of the distillery where we learnt about the process of making whiskey and then continued to the part of the facility (what they...More

This was a great distillery tour! We had been to Midleton for the Jameson Experience and were going to go to Tullamore Dew but a local told about Kilbeggan and we are so glad they did. It is smaller and more intimate and less commercial...More
