This is international border between India and bangladesh, very close to river Dawki. One can club the visit to this place alongwith visit to river dawki in meghalaya. Always fascinating to visit an international border.

Few points to note:

1. There is no parade or event here like wagah border
2.The approach road, especially the last 200 mts is not good. One would need to walk down the last part,
3. No eating points etc, near the border
4. Visit fairly early morning, otherwise it gets crowded

I visited this place with my family, it worth visiting this place, as you can meet Bangladeshi people. Its a international border where lot of business take place. So if you are visiting Dawki you must visit this friendship gate. A peice of advise, carry food and water with you as only one small restaurant is only available. This place is not well maintained. Request GOI, NHAI, government of Meghalaya to delvelp the place as model International border like at Amritsar. Road is pathetic here, traffic management is bad. For KMs all along the road trucks are parked. As Indian is developed country we must show case best of infrasturce out there. @PMO, #PMO., please detail senior officer to draw a road map and develop this place for tourist. Overall one must visit this place.

Having been to Bangladesh a couple of times and having been to Bangladesh border more than a dozen of times in Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram, it was specially good to be at Dawki Friendship Gate because of being near to Dawki river and it being the busiest and carrying very large trade with Bangladesh. Near the Gate and before it we passed thousands of trucks reaching the Gate.
An important Landport is coming up near the Gate. Being at the Gate and its surroundings we could be right on the international border, see Welcome Gates on both the sides, talk to security forces of both the countries and also wonder how man can make two places a few meters away from each other parts of two different countries.

If you have enough time, just go and take a selfie with the sign boards.
You have to park your vehicle before the gate and walk say 25m. Nothing special

We visited this border between India and Bangladesh, out of curiosity to see an international border.

We saw two entrance gates/arches one on the Indian side -- Dawki, and on the Bangladesh side, the place being called Tamabil. The people on both sides were friendly and tourists like us could simply walk across the gates and chat with Bangladesh soldiers. We could even take photos with them.

There was a line of trucks going from India to Bangladesh carrying construction material including big stones used in road construction (selling the motherland!).

This place is just a few kilometers from the Dawki River, where boatmen row tourists to see crystal clear water of the river.

AKA Tambil-Dawki International Border.
The BSF post and the jawans are okay with photographs.
It is a fairly busy place, a thriving town area.
Must eat the berries with super spicy masala from the Bangladesh side, they accept Indian currency.
