I’m glad I found out about this guy because he is such an important figure in Mexican history, born in Aguascalientes! A vert talented print maker and a keen eye for satire. A must-do if you’re traveling to the city.

La Catrina, the grinning skeleton with the elegant, floppy chapeau, is, without a doubt, the most famous creation of Mexican cartoonist, illustrator, artist and satirist, José Guadalupe Posada (1852-1913) whose work was so prolific that even today no one knows exactly how many obras he...More

This museum is designed in an interesting manner where you wander through the gallery. Unfortunately there was no English in the descriptions but art does not need language. I would think that it would be worth making a small handout in English to introduce this...More

Posada is famous for creating the original Contrina design in the 1910's. The museum is full of Posada's work from newspaper articles, children's books and his relationship with many notable persons of the day. Interesting.
