Caught somewhere between 67' hippies, margaritaville, and regular homes. We live further south west. Much nicer.

If you drive past the beach condos and keep on going you will reach Cholla Bay. This is a really small beach town and mostly occupied by private beach homes. There is only a few bars and restaurants which is good and NO hawkers or vendors which is heaven. There is only a few ways to reach the beach but... More

We arrived when the tide was extremely low so there were many hidden tide pools full of animals and colorful shells to explore. We rented a 4x4 at the marina and headed to cholla for a wonderful afternoon of fun. Lots of locals and tourists alike. Huge beach so there is plenty of room and sand for everyone. Don't miss... I'm not a super fan of Cholla Bay. It's not a place I would get into the water. JJs however has delicious simple Mexican fare at great prices in a fun atmosphere. We make a stop here on a every visit to Puerto Penasco. The Mexican blankets and things are less expensive here than on sandy beach also.

Drove out here after reading Tripadvisor. This is our very first visit to Puerto Penasco so wanted to check out all the place has to offer. This is a charming, understated fishing village....loved the simpleness of the environment. Saw dauphins feeding near the shore with large groups of pelicans. Sat at the Oyster Bar chatting with locals and enjoying the... More

We drove this area looking for a nice beach and didn't find one. We did find hard access areas and lots of rocks. check your tide chart before going but if you're looking for a beach this may not be the palace for you.

We drove out and walked on the beach very quiet and had the beach to ourselves. Beautiful little community. If you want to get away from the busy beaches this would be the spot.

This place is a must visit and absolutely stunning and beautiful like a walk back in time. Very clean and many cool houses along the shore and stunning views. Climbed the small mountain along the shores and you get an incredible view.

Get away from the condos and take a stroll through small town/village. Walk the bay when the tide is down. Stop for breakfast , lunch or just a drink.

JJ's was lots of fun. People were so nice. The drinks and food were so good. Grest view of bay. Boys had a great time kayaking in the bay.
