Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The entire area around this cathedral has been redone to cater to armies of tourists to the area. Lots of small boutiques, small cafes and many unique shops to mill about. The area is adjacent to La Zona Peatonal with its shops and the municipal plaza is an adventure not to be missed. There are daily flights from DFW to Leon and takes about 2 hours so take a hop there to enjoy La Zona Bajia in central Mexico.

Mexico's most people are catholic, specially at geographic states at center of Mexican Republic, like Jalisco, Zacatecas, Queretaro and Guanajuato. You can enter to the building all days. You only need respect the ceremonies inside. The building was started at 1764, established cathedral at 1866. The principal figure is "Madre Santísima de la Luz". Besides the beautiful interior you can know the Museum of Sacred Art. The pope Benedict XVI was in this building at March 25th, 2012.

From my point of view the most beautiful building in Leon - inside and outside. The small chapel at side is a highlight, no visitors but extremely stunning.

There are many beautiful churches in Mexico, this one is just average, nice but not stunning. Walk around the old town instead.

This church is beautiful inside when the lights are on. A great surprise. They were working on the front when we were there. But definitely worth a look.

This church is located near the main plazas, not as indicated on the map. It makes a nice tranquil spot for escaping the noise and bustle outside.

Much more interesting inside than outside, and much more decorated than the Templo Expiatorio, I found this church to be more interesting than the Expiatory. Here as well are many Mexicans coming to pray.

This is worth a visit while in Leon. It's well preserved and a crowning jewel in Leon. It is still in use, so we stayed in the entrance area to respect the worshippers. A great place to reflect on how lucky we were to be in Leon.
Lively people watching nearby also.
