We are so glad we rented our bikes from QT. They gave us a full run down on our options, and then proceeded to give us a lesson on how to drive semi automatic (which turned out to be easy to pick up on). They had full gear to rent for only 50k and they even gave us gloves because it’s cold in the mountains during winter. The insurance was very reasonable and covered any problems with the bikes which were also rented at a very reasonable price. They gave us a full run down on the loop which is really easy to follow especially if you have offline google maps. Unfortunately my friend fell on her bike (due to nerves really) and could no longer ride and we were able to call QT who advised us to go to a specific local homestay that would help us and book us a bus back to Ha Giang (the bikes go on top of the bus). QT offered to come get us himself but we didn’t need to go urgently and really enjoyed our night at the homestay. They even gave us a refund for one day because we came back early. Highly recommend renting bikes from them!! I personally loved driving the bike as I was a confident driver but next time we will probably hire tour guides from QT and be easy riders so we can just enjoy the scenery along the way and get more insight from a Vietnamese!

This was my 2nd time using QT and they even gave me a 10% discount as a good will gesture. They're an incredibly friendly group of people, both at the hostel and the bike rental. Their bikes are reliable and sturdy.

Also, their customer support beforehand was very prompt and informative which is quite often unheard of in Vietnam.

The only downside was that the bike I had booked in advance was definitely not in the best condition, and I didn't want to ride it for over 1000km so I went for the more expensive option - which actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise as I had forgotten just how treacherous some of the roads can be. However, if you were on a tight budget then this may be a bigger problem.

All in all, they're a great team and I hope they make it through this difficult time.

My girlfriend and I rented a Yamaha YB 125cc motorcycle to do the Ha Giang loop. The bike was great, in good condition, and perfect for two to ride on, since she wasn't comfortable driving. QT gave us a great run down of where to stay and what to look for on the loop, and we had a fantastic time. I definitely recommend going for the 125cc motorcycle. If you're going on a semi-auto motorbike anyway, just add the clutch and a few bucks for a lot more power and fun. It makes a difference when you need to pass a truck on those steep hills, or when you find a rare straightaway to give it some gas. Such a blast.

Without a doubt, this was one of the best tours we have done in Vietnam. Mr QT himself was an absolute legend, picking us up in his very comfortable car for the 6 hours drive from Sapa, treating us to a delicious lunch and telling us the very interesting story of his life not to mention the several beers we enjoyed with him on our return. We did the 6 day loop and wow...the scenery was stunning. Hieu, our tour guide was hands down the best tour guide we have ever met and Mr. Tuan, our additional driver was also incredibly helpful. We had a novice driver in our group and at all times felt safe on the challenging roads. The food and homestays was fantastic. We felt that we had a really authentic experience. Book with QT tours, you won't regret it. We look forward to a return trip sometime in the future.
Thank you QT tours for looking after us so well.

(One of the?) only Bike Rental in Ha Giang with real offroad motorcycles. Honda XR 150, small and not very strong, but offroad much better than scooters and strong and fast enough for the terrain around Ha Giang. We rented 3 of them (and 2 Honda Vision) in October 2019. The bikes were in a good condition, though not the newest ones. My bike had 19.000 km on the odometer, quite a lot on those difficult roads. The staff was very friendly and fortunately they had enough bikes -because they couldn't find my reservation. Minor defects on the motorcycles, that we noticed, were immediately remedied, one with bad brakes replaced. All bikes, even the scooters ran like clockworks for 6 days. Only one of them had problems with ignition every morning.
Everything went very uncomplicated. We rented for at first 6 days and were said, that we could return, whenever we wanted. The charge would have been reduced if we had returned one or more days earlier.
Even giving back the bikes was without problems: Since the bikes already had a lot of scratches, they didn't even look for new ones or other defects. And all that for about 26 € a day, plus that we could pick up the bikes in the afternoon of the day before and had not to pay that half day.
All in all: There may be no better place to rent your bikes for the Ha Giang Loop than QT Motorbikes and Tours. It is a little bit outside of the city center but conveniently they also have a little hotel which ist very cheap, just two or three doors away.

After being in Vietnam for 4 years, myself and some friends finally decided to do the loop before we leave Vietnam for good. We booked through QT and had the best experience EVER! We arrived from Hanoi on the overnight bus at around 4am and were given a place to stay and greeted by someone to ‘check us in’ as such. Next morning had breakfast and was greeted by Chai our tour guide! We also had 2 other drivers (3 people in total) who were fantastic for the whole trip! Filled us with information along the way, stopped at all the best spots, ate dinner and lunch with us and by the end of the 4 days felt like u had made friends. For the first 3 days all it did was rain but we were all in high spirits still. Some of the things along the way were closed because of the rain BUT Chai was able to accommodate these and take us to other places along the way. We had such a great time and would highly recommend!

Fabulous late October early November 2021 motorbike excursion on the Ha Giang loop -- supported by the excellent team at QT Motorbike. My Honda Vision was an excellent ride for 300,000 vdn a day including insurance, and QT, Linh and Mike provided outstanding service in helping me map a route and find places to stay along the way, especially Du Gia Homestay at the end of the loop. I stayed at QT Guesthouse, which is a basic accommodation and my room had no widows, which was great for a good night's sleep before heading out for an astonishing ride through glorious peaks and fascinating Hmong villages. I recommend staying at H'mong Village Resort outside of Tam Son and Meo Vac Clay House outside of Meo Vac.

We decided to get our bikes from QT after reading all the positive reviews about their service and recovery even though they were the most expensive in town. The manager Michael was very helpful when we were enquiring about the bikes and very responsive in the beginning.

However, when we arrived at QT, the bikes were very old and run down. We tested a few and they were all not running well and did not sound right. Michael assured us that they were good to go as they were just serviced (clearly not). If it wasn't for the pouring rain, we would have taken more time to test the bikes.

After watching how Michael dealt with other tourists renting bikes, we had our doubts as he was quite dismissive and forceful with the "optional" insurance. We opted out of the insurance as it was just their own private insurance and they were supposed to be responsible for any mechanical issue as long as it wasn't caused by us + we were happy to pay for any damages if we were to cause it.

As regular and experienced riders, we have never rented bikes in such condition in Asia. When we started the loop, we could feel that the bikes were not right as they both sounded off. The throttle of the bike was always open and the chokes were open in the wrong direction. One of our bikes kept breaking down in the middle of the loop (at times in rather dangerous spots in the mountains).

The service afterwards was pretty much non-existent. Michael did not reply to our messages on many occasions and we had to keep calling to arrange for a mechanic on our own to make sure our trip was not delayed. It was clear that the bikes were not road-worthy with lots of mechanical issues.

What really pissed us off was that he tried to insinuate that it was because we did not get the insurance but as a "favour" he'd cover the cost of the mechanic.

We decided to end our trip a day early as the bikes were just getting worse and it wasn't safe to ride with them. We also spoke to a few people along the loop and many of the them said they would not recommend QT as they are the most expensive and most of their bikes are not in good condition + not serviced well.

The loop itself is challenging for experienced riders so please practice caution and always make sure the bikes are running well before setting off!

I'm a 76-year old polio survivor who loves solo hiking, bicycling and motorcycling adventures. These adventures have taken me to Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Central America, SE Asia and across the US. Being alone on most of these adventures, safety, reliability and service are crucial for me. I found these qualities at QT Bikes when I rented a Honda Blade from them recently. I had called from Hà Nội a few days earlier to make inquiries. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised that QT (the owner) remembered our conversation. Seeing that I was older and riding alone, he instructed his staff to give me a brand new bike, one with only 2 kilometers on the odometer! QT then spent time showing me a suggested itinerary on a map that covered all the points of interest I had in mind. He also suggested nice detours and accommodations. When I told him that I may also want to ride to Cao Bằng, QT penciled that route on a second map (maps are free!) Even with a brand new bike, I bought the road insurance for peace of mind which I didn't have to use. One day, on the way to Lung Cu flagpole, I ran into another solo rider who also rented his bike from QT and was having some minor issues with his clutch. This rider didn't have a Việt Nam SIM card so I used my phone to report the problem to QT. After determining the location, QT assured this biker that help would be at his location in 30-40 minutes. I didn't stick around to see the result but I was impressed by QT's quick response.

All in all, I had a blast riding the Hà Giang loop. I would highly recommend QT Bikes to anyone looking for reliability and service in this area. BTW, QT speaks English fluently.
