Ha Giang was the highlight of our Vietnam trip. We had many good memories. The tour with YESD was well-paced and we were able to enjoy each location without being rushed. We get to trek around a rustic farming village. The H’mong King Palace tour was very interesting. Our local guide Mu was of the same ethnic group and she had given us a good understanding of the background. We really get to appreciate the history, culture and handicrafts of H'mong people. On Mu’s recommendation, we had a very good foot massage at Dong Van town. We could even do a spot of shopping for H’mong handicrafts and stopping at a café-with-a-view for coffee.
We were able to tweak our itinerary and enjoyed the river boat ride along Nho Que River. The view was stunning. Besides the many stopovers at scenic spots, we were able to visit a Tea Plantation and a Buckwheat Flower field for photo-taking. Food provided by the tour were plenty and delicious. The homestays and hotel were comfortable. I highly recommend YESD tour for travelling in Ha Giang.

We had the 6D5N tour with private car, driver and English speaking guide. Price included also accommodation and food.
We have spend many hours in the car since even for 200km because of the road condition, you need 6-7 hours driving. So 6D5N was very tired and not worth the extra money. 3D2N tour is enough to see the spectacular landscape.
The car was very comfortable and the driver was very good and polite.
We were very pleased with the rooms at the homestays and hotels.
BUT we were NOT pleased of some of the restaurants we had lunch or dinner. Particularly, one of them was totally unacceptable and dangerous to health (see attached photos). After our complains our guide was more careful.

Travelling with YESD to Ha Giang was one of the best holidays I've had in recent years. Staying in a homestay was fun because I got to interact with villagers and fellow visitors, while the motorbike tour (with Quyen) on the famous Ha Giang Loop and hiking around Thon Tha village were simply amazing.
Stunning views and a total immersion in the area made for a truly authentic experience of Vietnam's hill country. Once you've seen enough of the busy cities like Hanoi and HCMC, you should head north and "time travel" into Ha Giang, where you can experience village life like it has been for hundreds of years. If you're looking for some peace and quiet, culture, or some adventure, you can't go wrong here.
And I'd highly recommend going with YESD - they do an EXCELLENT job arranging everything, right from the moment you land at the airport, package everything so you don't have to worry about extras and hidden costs, and ensure that you really get a taste of the real Vietnam.
Not only that, this social enterprise makes sure that the villagers benefit directly from your trip - all the business goes to locals running the homestays and tour guiding, and money is ploughed back into the villages too. It's a great way to enjoy yourself while making it meaningful!

We had a wonderful experience on our Ha Giang tour. Even though we often saw a lot of mist rather than majestic views it was still an amazing experience. Quyet was an informative and perceptive guide who was very alert to our needs(ie. toilet stops for the mothers, photo stops for the photographers!)and provided so much insight into Vietnamese culture that we would have missed out on if we had been travelling alone. Minh was a skilled driver which we were very grateful for on the narrow windy roads. They were both just good fun to be with too.

It was lovely to stay at the homestays in little villages and the lovely hotel in Dong Van and we enjoyed the chaotic experience of Dong Van Sunday Market. I would recommend timing your trip around this if you can.

We would absolutely recommend this tour!

We had an amazing 5 dag trip guided by Ly Ly and Tuan. We enjoyed every minute of it. We saw great nature, discovered local habits and had nice places to stay as well. Had very much fun laughed out loud at times.

We took a private car tour of Ha Giang and this was the highlight of our entire Vietnam trip. We needed private transport from Hanoi to and back, and they were able to accommodate all of the customized details.

We stayed at home stays for 2 days, and a hotel for one day. The really interesting part of the tour was being able to stop by jaw stunning scenery on car stops, and really like about the indigenous people's in Vietnam.

It was truly a magical experience and if you have doubts about missing out because you aren't on a motorcycle, don't worry at all as this trip has a mix of scenery and culture.

Our private tour guide Zen was great. She made sure we were comfortable at all parts of the trip.

Our tour was certainly one of the main highlights of our visit to Vietnam. First I want to say the YESD team, more specifically, Tuyet, was so great to work with. They help you with every little detail and every question you have. Even special requests! We had an "in-between" day at the end of this tour and our next destination. I did some research about tea forests in the area and asked Tuyet about it. In no time I have a customized itinerary for that day. Fantastic customer service!!!!! Plus the homestay and the tea forest were breathtaking.

The tour itself was unbelievable. The Ha Giang region is so beautiful. Our motorcycle drivers were so fantastic. They made sure everything was perfect. They even surprised us with a cake for our wedding anniversary! We loved the fact that they all lived and work in the area. It made it feel very authentic and we love positive the impacts YESD has on all the communities we visited. Tong, Son and Quyet answered all of our questions and respected any and all of our asks. The homestays and the hotel were all great. The families were so welcoming and friendly. The food was amazing as well. And the time just sitting around the table chatting, will be something I will not forget.

Do yourself a favor and book a trip to Ha Giang with YESD and experience the area before it becomes too popular and looses some of its authenticity. You will not be disappointed.

YESD was the highlight of our Southeast Asia vacation! Tuyet was great to work with to iron out the details of planning the Ha Giang trip. We were nervous about doing motorbikes so the car and trek option was perfect for us. The tour was very authentic and it was awesome to see some of the positive impacts YESD has on the communities it visits. Our guide, Quyet, was great. He helped make sure the trip ran smoothly while also providing interesting history and local information. We would absolutely recommend YESD!

We booked a four day/3 night tour with YESD ; and to simply sum it up, FANTASTIC!

Our guide Ying comes from the mountains and she gave us not only siteseeing, but a glimpse of the culture. We stayed in Home Stays for 2 nights where we enjoyed local food and hospitality.

During the day our driver, Bing (excellent driver), drove on some of windiest roads I've ever been on, with breathtaking views. After a good drive Ying took us on hikes in the hills near the villages, where we were often alone enjoying the nature.

If you enjoy a more nature oriented tour, we highly recommend YESD.

We had an excellent experience on the Ha Giang loop. Very thankful to have an experienced driver on the busy switchback winding roads. Phong was a great guide and we were able to see many different areas and try lots of different Vietnamese foods. There were a couple times that our guide was unsure where we were going and we had to back track multiple times which was a little frustrating. But other than that, we had a fantastic experience.
