The Heritage and Information Centre is housed in the centre of New Mills and is an excellent source of current and historical information about New Mills and the surrounding area. The centre is an ideal starting point for many walks for all capabilities with many free walk leaflets and maps available. Inside the centre you will also find a well stocked cafe and very helpful knowledgeable volunteers.

Having lived in New Mills 1952-68 went back to see how it had changed, Though tucked away Heritage Centre full of information with helpful volunteers on Bank Holiday Monday providing detail of Millenium Walk that as a child area was no go!

Really interesting local history displays and jam-packed with leaflets and information about the local area, what to see and visit. Free of charge with its own little cafe, all run by local volunteers, and right by the top of the path to the Millennium walkway...More

The Heritage Centre is a great place to visit and a must for locals and visitors! The staff are volunteers and so kind and friendly. It is such a welcoming, accepting place and a mine of local information.

The area is well worth a visit and the Information Centre should be your starting off point, before wandering down the path to the Torrs and walking along the Millennium Walkway. There are some decent cafes in the town, but the pubs aren't up to...More

Nice place to have a cup of coffee and snack indoors or out especially if just walking up from the Torrs which are well worth a visit.
