Crowfoot Glacier is 20-miles NW of Lake Louise and is visible from the Icefields Parkway, which is where this photo was taken. This avoided the purchase of the Banff Park Pass. It lays on the flank of Crowfoot Mountain and it's run-off supplies the Bow...More

Wonderful photo opportunity by the roadside but if you have the time take the Helen Lake trail immediately opposite this parking area to view this glacier from above, you won’t be disappointed

This is visible from the highway between Banff and Jasper, just south of beautiful Bow Lake. It’s worth a quick stop. It’s not the huge glaciers you see north of here, but striking nonetheless.

Travelling the Icefields Parkway in Alberta's Banff National Park you can either do a quick pull over on the side of the highway or buy the Banff Park Pass and take longer to view Crowfoot Glacier. The glacier rises above the horizon with such detail...More

This glacier, alongside the icefield parkway, is a great first introduction to the concept of glacial recession. The third ‘claw’ of the glacier went many years ago, but it still presents a very photogenic vista, just off the side of highway 93.

We pulled over to the side of the road for a few minutes to see the glacier. Unfortunately so much of the glaciers continue to melt so their presence is not the same. However, always cool to see.

Crowfoot Glacier is located near Icefields Parkway and is a very impressive sight. Parking lot is located next to Parkway. Crowfoot is near Bow Lake.

Make sure you have a IceFields Parkway GUIDE to make sure you are aware of the many spectacles along the drive ... a guide will prevent you from missing something ... the crowfoot lies above BOW LAKE ... you can view it from a highway...More

It's a nice little stop when you are along the way. We had some great photo moments here - the (usual) combo of glacier, mountain and lake.

This is another scenic stop you need to make while driving along the Icefields Parkway. It is visible right along the side of the highway. You can pull over and take some quick photos and read the sign and move on fairly quickly. Sad that...More
