Superb views on the gondola ride and from the top of the mountain. $50 for the gondola ride is expensive but there is a $65 deal that includes a gondola ride and two course dinner in the restaurant which is good value. The deal is available from 4pm and the food is excellent. If you have an early booking you... More

This is a challenging hike in the winter, but I still managed to do it in around 2 1/2 hours. Make sure you take the time to enjoy the scenic views all thew way up!!! Once you get to the top you can walk a little further to the cosmic ray station. The view from the top is worth every... More

The cable car or gondola ride to the top is quite steep and exciting giving progressively wider views of the Banff area. At the top you step off at the cafe/ gift shop and out onto a 2 km board walk across the mountain to an old radar station. When we went the first snows had fallen coating the mountain... More

We visited Sulphur Mountain in September 2016 and somehow I forgot to post my review until Trip Advisor prompted me very recently. Along with Niagra Falls this was the highlight of our 16 days in Canada - it was so much more than we ever expected. We took the gondola and then walked the last little bit to the top.... More

Instead of going on the 40 to 50 Dillard gondola, I decided to hike up. It took 2 hours roughly and it was tiring. But at the end you feel the accomplishments of climbing a mountain while others took the easy way up. When you are up THERE, there are different summits that you can hike to depending on your... We enjoyed the short gondola ride and were pleasantly surprised when we reached the top. Lots to do and see and great places to eat. If you feel up to it, there's a great walk to a slightly higher summit. Would definitely recommend this even though the ride was quite expensive so make sure you visit on a clear day... More

We journeyed up to the top of Sulphur Mountain, and the panoramic view of Banff was simply amazing. We were definitely blessed with good weather and spend a couple of hours enjoying the views.

This was a nice hike in the afternoon after the clouds had cleared up. It was early September so I remember it got kinda windy and chilly at the top, but not too bad. Nice views at the top. It only took about 1/5 hours return trip.

The gondola takes you approximately 7300' above Banff townsite and provides 360 degree views over the mountains once you reach the top. The newly renovated interpretive center provides information and hands-on exhibits for all age groups and the three levels include spectacular viewing areas and a cafeteria and restaurant. Be prepared for changing weather conditions as the elevation alone can... More

Banff was our final stop on our coach tour of the Canadian Rockies. We rode the Banff Gondola in the afternoon to the top of Sulphur Mountain and took in the horizon to horizon panoramic views over six Rocky Mountain ranges. Just spectacular! The weather when we reached the top was fine however it changed suddenly and within minutes we... More
