I don't like rating hikes as average, because I'd rather people DO something than not. But to be honest, this hike is not spectacular. It's all in the trees, and when you finally get to the lake, the view is lopsided. You stand at an...More

What a wonderful hike. Easy with little elevation change. Visited in late October, and got about 2 inches of snowfall. So serene and beautiful along the path - especially at the bridge - very picturesque. Incredible to see wolf tracks on the path.

Beautiful walk/hike to Boom Lake. Path well defined, blissfully quiet, just a few skiers. Not slippery and easy to navigate. Not too taxing a walk either. Would live to do this again. We don't see snow like this in the UK, so for us it...More

The Lake is very stunning! Wish I had brought my swimmers or a raft! Be wary of animals on and around the trail. Not a hike for people who want a challenge.

It was an easy to moderate uneventful hike but the beauty of the lake more than made up for it. If your looking for a pretty remote lake and don't like a large crowd this hike is for you. The water was very cold but...More

Had an awesome afternoon trip to this simply spectacular lake on a warm summer day. Had a picnic on the bolder beach, found a place to slip into the deep frigid waters for a quick swim, and basked in the sunshine as I enjoyed the...More

This is a hike where you walk through forested trails, with rocks turned by lichen into fantastic mosaics, and you walk and walk and walk and then just when you have had enough of an uphill walk, **BOOM!**--it hits you, a spectacularly beautiful deep blue...More

The trail and the car park was well maintained. Getting to the lake might be difficult for those with reduced mobility. Sat at the lake for 30 minutes or so to eat lunch. We were joined by a couple of Whiskey Jacks. Cheeky little birds...More

We hiked this on May 24. It was a lovely hike and the end point lake is fantastic. However, there was a lot of snow - would be better maybe end of June onward.

Quite a boring, forested trail that got a bit more interesting and a tad more "alpine" near the lake. Lake is very scenic with a rocky shore to explore. Hikes around Lake Louise are more rewarding. Try the Lake Agnes Tea house and Beehive.
