- JyssSaint Paul, Minnesota633 contributionsCold group sleigh rideWe went on the group sleigh ride on a very cold day. We enjoyed it. The horses seemed very well cared for and were impatient to get going when some guests were dragging. I would recommend a blanket one chilly day.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 January 2024
- teganb29Cairns Region, Australia52 contributionsScenic rideThe scenery is stunning, snow capped mountains and beautiful pine forests. The horses are all very experienced in what they do, we had 3 beginners and they were all very comfortable. Lake Agnes is beautiful and the teahouse is a must see. The guides were lovely and great at what they do. It would have been great for a few more scenery stops but understand it’s hard with hikers. We were supposed to do the plain of 6 glaciers ride but it was still too snowy so we got switched over to the Lake Agnes ride, it was all switched over easily and we were even allowed to add another 2 people to the booking.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 9 July 2024
- julie a2 contributionsLakes tour BanffWe did the tour to the lakes and waterfall with this company and found our driver Amy and guide Taylor to be excellent . Amy skills backing the bus up and down the switchbacks were awesome as was her friendly service. Taylor was knowledgeable and helpful. The bus clean and comfortable and on time. The girls went out of their way to enable us to a train in the spiral tunnels Which helped to understand how they worked .Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 August 2024
- Sandy37 contributionsHighly RecommendedI did a tour to Lakes Louise and Moraine. The tour guide, Evie, was excellent with lots of anecdotes and stories throughout, very knowledgable and engaged with customers really well. The tour itself was awesome - if there is a nicer spot anywhere in the world than lake Moraine I would love to see it!Visited July 2024Travelled soloWritten 31 August 2024

As a previous reviewer had identified, an accident occurred during our ride, and we were in the sleigh where the horses ramped up and ended up collided into the sleigh in front of us. I was with my husband and my daughter and it was a terrifying experience. We had to jump out of the sleigh while it was still moving in case the horses dragged the sleigh off of the path. Luckily they got stuck in the snow and no one was harmed during the incident.
Looking back now, the narrow path and the distance between each sleigh (there were three that were going at the same time) didn’t seem like it left any room for error.
I don’t think this situation happens often but if I were to go on any type of sleigh rides again (doubtful) I would make sure I sat on the last sleigh (if they went in groups) and I would not bring younger children with me.

My dream came true when I got to ride in a horse drawn sleigh around Lake Louise. Now I can check that off my bucket list. It was 20 below zero but we didn't feel the cold because the beauty of Lake Louise and the surrounding mountains was just breathtaking. The trip lasted about an hour and we turned around at the frozen waterfall. I will never regret taking this ride and will never forget the beauty I experience that day.

We liked the sleigh ride but it was really cold. I would of thought that the horses would have a horse blanket on. The blankets they have for the passengers was so thin it would not help you. The driver was nice. We could not go onto the lake as it had not frozen hard enough to handle the weight. The path has many people walking on it and some of them are not bright enough to move off the trail when the sleighs are coming. Great pictures of the glacier and the falls plus the hotel.

Serious Accident on the sleigh ride at Lake Louise.
Horses got spooked and ran into the sleigh in front nearly killing people in the back two rows. The back two rows where crushed. Everyone was so lucky.
We where on the sleigh that went out of control and went off the six foot edge of Lake Louise. Thank goodness for the deep snow or both horses would have died.
Very scary day for me and my children - if they continue the sleigh rides - please sit in the same row as your children, I sat in front of my kids and felt helpless. My friend was able to throw her daughter and my daughter off so they could run to a safe place behind all the sleds.
Please be careful with small children on this ride.
The birthday girl in the seat that was crushed was ok thankfully.

There is a reason since 1892, Brewster Tours has been the leader in sightseeing tours in Canada, we had the pleasure of being on a number of their tours during our visit to Canada in July 2022 that included magnificent lake cruise of Minnewanka, The Banff Gondola and the scenic Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, Columbia Icefield Adventure with the Ice Explorer Tour on the Athabasca Glacier and the glass-floored Skywalk for a jaw-dropping walk at the cliff’s edge, yes it was both amazing and terrifying.
We found with exception of one driver, that they were all professional and knowledgeable driver guides. We meet our first driver in Calgary as we began our Rocky Mountaineer Train adventure on Wednesday July 6, 2022, everyone had a ton of questions but the driver had great patience and answered everyone’s questions all while navigating the streets of Calgary. We had an additional guide for the Columbia Icefield Adventure with the Ice Explorer Tour on the Athabasca Glacier and the Skywalk during our tour on July 9, 2022, she was delightful and full of information and energy but the driver on that tour was a bit condescending and if he was to be believed had climbed every mountain we passed. His attitude toward the young assistant guide was off-putting and it was distressful to hear him talk down to her. Despite that it was a spectacular tour and the staff on the Columbia Icefield Adventure were amazing.
Brewster Tours is your best guide for all adventures in the Canadian Rocks and all their tours are an absolute “must do”.

For a relatively cheap price, you can ride on a horse drawn sleigh ride across the lake.
Since it was cold, we were really glad that we got to explore the area but didn’t have to do the walking.
I’d recommend if you want to see more of the lake but are only there for limited time.
The views were beautiful. And the guide was very friendly.

The Lake Anges Teahouse ride (3h) was incredible! Ended up being a "private" tour with just myself and Ann making the trek up to the teahouse. Ann calmed any of my nervousness with her exceptional knowledge of horses, expertise and great conversation. The horses are well trained and cared for. This is a must-do Canadian adventure and best way to see the sites. Highly recommend!

We were four couples who were looking for a memorable experience and indeed we did. The sleigh ride was 45 minutes long. We got to pet, take pictures with the horses at the beginning before hopping on. It was magical to go around Lake Louise , it was lightly snowing which made it romantic as well. Georgia, our guide, was very friendly and informative.. The trail was narrow but everything was professional. They don’t provide blankets due to COVID restrictions so we brought our own. Price was reasonable $45 + taxes each. I certainly recommend this activity.

Stunning scenery and great horses. I would have given this a 5/5 if it was not for the leader. She was very knowledgeable but overshares constantly. We had a 4 hour monologue in a loud voice about her room mates, podcasts, travel plans etc At one point a fellow rider asked her for some quiet time to listen to the sounds of nature. She managed a full 10 mins without talking which was great. But her loud incessant chatter spoilt the majestic wilderness we were riding in.

Fabulous!!! We just took the sleigh ride around the lake and it still felt like Christmas as there was so much snow at the Chateau! Lloyd, our guide, was friendly and entertaining. The horses were beautiful. We had lovely group of people. It could not have been better. Those horses skip along pretty good on the way back too. That was fun and I am 58 yrs old. Beautiful view at the end of the lake before you turn around. Well worth the low $45 CAD that they charge. Then we visited at the barn and the dance hall on the day we left. We saw Lloyd again and he showed us around the barn and we were lucky enough to meet the owner of Brewster Stables though he does not tell you that right off. Lovely down to earth guy! He showed us the dance hall. Beautiful!! Would never guess it was 27 years old. Won't tell you his name you have to find that out for yourself. We will be back!!!! Thanks again Brewsters!!!! Would give you a 10 if I could. Oh, thanks for all the stories too.

Is there any guidance of what we are allowed to wear/not wear for horse riding? Also, will we be able to take a bag with us on a ride? Many Thanks in advance

Why is the public walking trail covered in horse droppings??
Written 26 August 2016
There are two companies that guide horses up the trails. There are some parts of the trail that walkers and horses share. Then there are trails that are strictly walking areas.
Written 26 August 2016
I have not been able to find information regarding your trail ride online. Driving tours, yes but nothing on horseback rides other than reviews. Can you send me information regarding rides?
