All the amenities of a modern facility are featured in this splendid, historic spa and bath house—against a backdrop of spectacular alpine scenery. You will luxuriate in the comfort of soothing hot water where travelers have come to “take the waters” for more than a century. Banff’s premier attraction features: a day spa, outdoor terrace, Wonder of water hydrology exhibit and historic swimsuits (1920's) for rent. It also offers an outfitters gift store and the Upper Hot Springs Café.

Not a natual hot spring anymore, but a big communal hot tub with largely municipal chlorinated water. Nice, but I much prefer non commercial natural hot springs off the beaten track. But sorry, I can't divulge their location. I don't want them to become like...More

We soaked our weary bones after a long day of hiking. Felt great! Would have loved it if the springs were in their natural state, but the little foot pool on the way out was a nice treat.

Great to relax in the lovely hot water but be warned that it does feel very hot after about 10 mins and you should keep getting out to cool down. Changing facilities ok and good that you can rent a towel for people on holiday...More

Facilities were reasonably clean and the pool had a few different levels on which you can sit so you can adjust as you get hot/cold. It's also big enough to swim a little bit if it's not too busy.

We went here and viewed the pool but did not pay to rent a locker, get a towel and sit in the pool for 30 minutes. It is basically a tourist attraction. But if the parking lot below for the gondola is full, it would...More

My boyfriend and I went here at the end of the day after 2 days of hiking, walking, and white water rafting in the Banff area. We were sore and this was an excellent muscle relaxer for us. Great prices to get in, free parking,...More

The springs are not what some people expect (natural rugged environment). Instead water is sourced from deep in the mountain then filtered before it makes its way into the pool. Yes, it is a shallow pool about 4-5 feet at its deepest. There is a...More

Not at all. It's more like a giant hot tub. Facility has showers and lockers and such.

The Banff Hot Springs is appropriate for children. There were many kids there when we were visiting.
