Make sure you go to a travel centre before heading to the park. There is a red Calgary Attractions Coupon brochure that has a buy one get one free pass. 25 bucks for a whole day of entertainment for two people is great. When you are there make sure to engage the interpreters. They have great stories to share!

Don't let the big H at the entrance fool you. The actual village is about another 2-3 mins drive inward. When we got to village, it was about 1.5 hours til closing at 5pm but the girls at the entrance and the ticket office advised that we come back another day since they recommend a 3 hr stay inside the... We enjoyed our morning at the park so much that we came back in the afternoon, and we still didn't see everything! The number of historical buildings is extensive, and you can tour the inside and ask questions of the people there. They range from an Indian settlement to fur trappers to ranch to an entire village. There is also... More

Very large historical village. We really enjoyed walking around and seeing the different buildings. Cast members really take their jobs seriously and seemed to enjoy interacting with children even while in character. Very relaxing outdoor park. Wish we could have spent more time there before heading off.

The most fun place for families of all sizes. Bring your picnic supplies and have a relaxing time by the farm under a tree or find a nice spot away from everything. Great for little kids. Finish the day with an ice cream and a stroll.

Essentially, one reviews the history of Canada by visiting the various area of the park-fur trading, farming, ranching, 1900 town, antique carnival rides, etc. Period buildings are original-deconstructed and rebuilt on site. Historical presenters explained all exhibits. Great place to take a family for a day.

Went here on a two week trip to Canada and spent the day wandering round. It's brilliant! Lots of attractions and even a little vintage funfair for the kids! Steam train, Paddle steamer and Gasoline Alley, all beautifully kept and very interesting. I would recommend the Selkirk Grill too for lunch it was delicious! We absolutely loved it and would...
