Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you think Confederation Park is a place for summertime frolicking only, think again. Each year during the holidays Confederation park transforms to "The Festival of Lights." Thousands of lights create fantasy scenes depicting traditional Christmas themes accompanied by background music. The display can easily be seen driving south on 14 St. NW. The best way however to view the light display, is to immerse yourself amidst the holiday characters and get an up close and personal look as you stroll right next to them. Park your car on 24th Avenue and walk through the gate into a wonderland of twinkling lights. Great place to stroll with your lover, your kids or your dogs. The snow path is packed down, making it easy to pull the wee ones in a toboggan. Wear boots with grips as it can get icy, making walking conditions slippery. Plan on at least 30 minutes for the walk. View the lights from 7 pm til midnight each day during December and early January. Not only is this a great venue to enjoy the holiday spirit, it's also FREE. How can you beat that?

I have spent years walking around the loop with the famous Buddy who recently passed to Dog Heaven. Very busy on weekends and you have to pick up poop, illegal to feed ducks bread because their stomachs will explode not what you want your kids to see. Coyote lived on hill to left of tunnel. He might have got taken down. Police also drive thru when ever so keep it on up and up.

I have walked and rode my bike many times through "Confed" as it is affectionately known. It is a great park with winding pathways, bridges, tunnels, a creek, a pond, benches, playground, and much more. It has some really lovely places for taking photos; nature, family or wedding. It is also very popular for wedding photos so plan ahead and have a few options available for locations within the park. Parking on 10th street at either the Rosemont community hall, or across the road by the Confederation Flags and garden is likely your best bet.

I've lived in Calgary for most of my life, and would always come here a couple times a month for a walk. It's a beautiful park, all the people are so friendly, and it provides the perfect way to get some exercise in the city. There's nothing special about this park, per say, except that it's just a beautiful place to enjoy in the middle of Calgary. I've missed it so much since I've moved!

I've been there at the evening for a small running session. It surprised me that so many people were there and if the weather is good you can easily enjoy the sun on some of the grass places. I'll definitely come back to this park, next time I come to Calgary.

Just a little oasis in the middle of Calgary. Beautiful colours in the fall. Great little stream runs through the park with lots of benches for picnicking.

I love walking in Confederation Park. You can plan a route all the way through to Queen's Park Cemetery and back. Beautiful trees, nice views all year round. A stream runs through the park and there are ponds with ducks and little bridges. It's pretty and it's quiet.

You could argue that there are better parks in Calgary, but they are small for my liking. This park fits our perception of decent size of a park and is our favorite park. It has a small creak, old trees, nice alleys. Unfortunately it is divided into two parts with a golf course in the middle, which is kind of uncomfortable to go around in order to get to the other part, so we usually stick to its west part (west of 14St NW).

Weddings are common in this park, and there are many settings that are ideal for this purpose. The permit and it's cost is available by e-mailing the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Calgary:
I hope that helps.
Have a great wedding!
