Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located east of 1st St Se and north of 6th Ave SE, the structure is more than a handful of naked bronze men and women. It left me cold, the height of the work its only striking feature. You might disagree, art being in the eye of the beholder.

Nature Odyssey - while the city of Calgary beautiful, we decided to explore the surrounding parks and rivers. The grizzlies of Kananaski where magnificent and dangerous. Bow river fishing on west side of Calgary through cowboy movie sets. Luxury of Fairmont Banff Springs, emerald blue lakes of Banff National Park and Yoho National park are breathtaking and great photography. Ice Field Parkway to visit the Columbia Ice Field and surrounding Glaciers were a one of a kind experience. Top it all off in Jasper with Wildlife and nature tours.

The Family of Man statue is located at the Calgary Board of Education building in downtown Calgary. I have always seen these statues while passing by the overhead bridge and had decided to go there once. Today was the day, we were walking down China Town while we came across these statues when we exited from there. These statues are super huge may be some feet tall, made of steel I guess all standing in different positions. There are men, women and children all playing together which is indeed a very pleasant sight to the eyes. These statues were presented by Maxwell Cummings and Sons in 1968 to the city of Calgary.

The nine attenuated, stainless steel male and female figures of varied ages, each being about 7 m tall, stand loosely in a circle and resemble nothing else so much as Giacometti’s surrealistic sculptural forms from about the same era. These nine are also known as the Family of Man and they stand on the grounds outside the Calgary Board of Education. A plaque identifies them. They’re all interacting with each other. They’re all naked. They seem playful and happy. Visitors can walk and pose among them — almost anywhere and at will. You can do so, too!

These statues are very unique and if my memory serves me correct, they are originally from EXPO 67, in Montreal. I once made the front page of the Calgary Herald, exposing myself to these statues. Actually, I was wearing shorts under my trench coat, but it looked neat from behind, me exposing myself..... to naked statues!!

An impressive group statue, easily accessible on foot. In a car, not so easy because of parking, but you can eyeball it as you drive by. The overall effect is a cluster of Giacometti (elongated) statues of people.

These tall statues are quite an interesting piece of art. They are in groups to represent cooperation I was told.
Downtown Calgary has some very cool art, explore and enjoy!

And they say Calgary is very old fashion in their thinking....Not So. Enjoyed walking around the different statues as each position gave you a different shape to look at.
