Good place to spend a few hours while walking near the riverfront in Calgary. We stayed 2 minutes away from the place so was the first thing that we visited while in Calgary.

Very small museum that has as much to show on the outside as inside. I have been to many museums in China that are very extensive with pottery and prints so I am a bit spoiled.

This is a great place to learn a bit of history about Chinese, exhibits, with some emphasis on the Chinese in Calgary. The museum is not big, but it contains a very good synopsis of Chinese history and artifacts. Exhibits include a sample replica of the Xian terra-cotta soldiers, horses, and carriage. model of earliest Seismography, first earthquake detector back in 132AD; Tapestry of 4 great inventions of China - Paper making, printing gunpowder, and Magnetic Compass; Emperor and Empress Robes; and my favorite -- magnificent art piece all made by bird’s feathers of (2) Roaring Tigers. All in all, very beautiful exhibit, and the very nice and friendly curator spent time with us, explaining some of the backgrounds of the pieces.
