Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are out and walking around and see the statues cool. Enjoy them. But never would i put this on a list of things to visit in Calgary. There is lots to do in the area if you really want to see them you can add some other things to see with it at least.

This is one of my favorite sculptures in Calgary of the famous five women who fought to get the womans vote in Alberta. They also have Nellies house in Heritage park, built much larger but every detail copied just as her original house was.At the house they have women dressed in the costumes of the day who will explain the history to you.I also love to visit the house. They also have special days you can take afternoon tea there at the house.

This grouping of five realistic metal sculptures occupies one corner of the Olympic Plaza, near Café Teatro and EPCOR Centre for the Performing Arts. A broadsheet headline announces that women are people and thus can hold any political office in Canada. The five women that the sculptures portray — Emily Murphy, Henrietta Muir Edwards, Irene Parlby, Louise McKinney, and Nellie McClung — were all social and legislative activists of their era. As an ensemble on the Plaza, two are seated in chairs, two more stand and hold up the headline, and one stands alone beside a chair. The news of personhood appears to have arrived during teatime. This is a fun place to encounter Canadian social history while on a day’s outing. Be sure to bring a camera.

Located just across the Olympic Park (with skating rink and gopher models) is this important group of women, immortalized. Stroll through the park at the same time!

Some art is meant simply to be beautiful and uplifting. Other works exist to both satisfy our eye and to make an important political or social statement. In addition to being beautifully rendered this grouping reminds us of how far we have come in recognizing gender equality and the right of all humans to be treated fairly and with dignity. Don’t miss this important landmark especially if you gave children.

Ideally situated on Calgary’s popular Steven Avenue Mall, these statutes provide an interesting backdrop and context to your walk along Steven Avenue Mall as well as some insight into our history the the role these five interesting and motivated figures played.

While the nearby Conversation Sculpture is of two rather anonymous businessmen and has limited resonance, the history reflected in these five statues is a must-see for anyone who wants to gain a measure of historical perspective on Women's Rights in Canada. Don't miss it, be sure to take your kids and explain to them the significance of these women.

These statues reflects the history how women fought for their rights and made it to senate to create a landmark in the Canadian history. I am glad we were able to show this to our kids .

We were searching for all the various statues and sculptures in downtown. This is one of my favorites.
