Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We walked through here as it was opposite our hotel and we spotted the green! It has a concrete water feature area with a bridge, a couple of sculptures, grass, a few trees and some seating. Well maintained and quite sweet!

We haven't been downtown for a while, but managed a visit recently. This park has always been central for the west end in Calgary, as it is near a busy C-Train station and transit hub. A small bit of the former park concrete has been retained, and it, unfortunately creates a bit of a squeeze, a narrow bridge-like bit where, in the days of COVID, you don't want to be on with strangers. The openness is welcome, though, as the entire area is pretty well enclosed by high-rises, and so the sunshine it brings in is welcome. There are enclosed rooms, but I don't know what they are used for, perhaps rentals...

The first tourist attraction site near our hotel is this century garden but it was just a construction site. There was a fence around the place. Nothing to see except the park regulation plaque.

Parks are just grass on top of dirt, throw in a shrub and a flower bed, right? Well it seems not. Based on what they are doing at Century Gardens, you need to dig half way to China first... Hope it's fabulous when the dust is all settled...

Sadly, another downtown outdoor space will be closed for a year, leaving downtown workers, shoppers and residents with fewer and fewer options to relax. Hopefully, the redevelopment will result in more safety and improved experiences for downtown users, especially if they include safe washrooms. I REALLY hope they retain the Brutalist references in the south-west corner - parks are great places to celebrate that fascinating style of architecture.

Century Gardens is a lovely open space right in the downtown core. The City has made a number of improvements, including removing some older buildings that used to border it on the west side, so it's very open now. Also, the LRT station is on the north side of the park, so there are now a lot of people walking nearby, so it's now not as isolated as it used to be. In the summer, many downtowners head out there to catch some rays on their lunch hours. In the winter, it's just a pretty field of snow with some interesting statues and a nicely maintained path through it.

This quiet square is another quiet place where you can sit and relax, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. We sat in the sunshine for some time, just enjoying ourselves.

This place is very nice. It contrasts with the downtown and you fells like be in a big and exclusive garden.
Take a few minutes to hear the birds singing and the water flowing.

This tiny park in the centre of Stephen St in Calgary has several nice art features, sculptures and water features. It has several benches, and a small stream running through the middle. It is is nice place to retreat from the bustling of the city

This is a passive park, if you please, no horseplay. It's a lovely lunch spot in summer. It's not a bad place to stroll with another person at anytime and is well lit at night but I wouldn't go around it alone after dark. Good thing summer nights are bright and the park is small.

There are zero amenities. Go here to escape the urban jungle for a few minutes.
