Great place for walkers who love to shop and eat/drink. Many different and unique shops to see in clothing and giftware. The fringe festival is close to here, also the local large famous Farmers Market with veggies, fruit, mini doughnuts, ice cream, locally made crafts. Great places to eat and drink from Mexican to Irish, poutine, vegan, vegetarian, ice cream,... More

I love coming over to this area as there are interesting shops and like Europe a lot of places to eat outside in the summer. There is a huge market.

I just tried out a new bakery/patisserie just off of White Ave. I had a lovely chocolate almond croissant and my husband had a prosciutto parmesan croissant. Both were flakey and crisp on the outside and buttery and soft on the inside. The chocolate was very flavorful. We loved them and will make this patisserie a regular go to spot... More

It was good to wander in and out of the shops. Much had a historic feeling. Unique little stores along with good eating and drinking places.

I went back here recently with my family on a Friday afternoon- the Saturday farmers market seems to be the big attraction, but when that is not open, I did not find that there was a lot to do. To me, the area was somewhat disappointing and over-rated. I know that there are sometimes festivals or other events in the... More

It used to be fun to walk along Whyte Ave but many of the stores have closed leaving just a handful of stores I consider worth visiting. I think they need to revamp this neighbourhood again. Some of the blocks are seedy actually.

take your time and get off Whyte Ave. go down the side streets. Pop into the market. See the cafes. Walk through the residential streets. Beautiful old houses and older trees.

My wife and I walked over the High Bridge to join hundreds of others on a stroll up and down this old town. We luckily chose the Chianti Cafe and Restaurant located in the Old Post Office for our lunch, a good choice among many, many others.

Favourite part of Edmonton! Though the restaurants change with time, there are always lots of great places to eat and drink. There are more chain stores than there used to be, but still lots of independent shops featuring everything from First Nations art to goth and clubwear, jewellry, books, flowers, organic produce and an abundance of clothing and accessories. There... More
