Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have been camping here every summer season for eight years now. This will be the second year that they have allowed for reservations. It used to be all first come/first serve which meant going out on a Tuesday to secure a site for a long weekend especially if you wanted a power site. So I would spend several weeks a summer here. More recently with the reservation system (1/3 of the sites) it has only meant a stay of a few nights. Our visits have all ways coincided with several long weekends over the summer season and all ways the may long weekend. It is just over an hour from Grande Prairie on full pavement. Situated on a small shallow lake created by a dike on one end. Sites are a good mix of pull thru, back in, and double sites with about a quarter along the lake on three loops. About 20% of the sites are what I would consider poor. Two paved handicap sites. Plentiful potable water taps and outdoor bathrooms. Their is one fully serviced bathroom with showers (1.00 for three minutes) centrally located. Campground is regularly patrolled day and night with a campground host and staff housing/office. So it is generally very quite and subdued, no young partiers or generators here. Lake is non-motorized and stocked with trout, good for fishing and paddling. All sites have power weather you need it or not so the price is 34.00 a night for all sites. Wood is well stocked and included in that price. Which is why I prefer this Provincial Park over a host of others that charge for wood. We cook all our meals over the open fire and by necessity have a fire going all day which is not practical when paying 5.00 for a handful of logs. Sewer dump station also on site and included. Good hiking trails. This spring was only the second time in eight years with showers and the taps open, typically the ground is still too frozen to open the pipes so when going early you need to plan for this. There is potable water available at the main office from a tap however but it takes a drive to get it. Shower/Bathrooms are cleaned daily and wood regularly stocked. The one big negative is that from about mid July to mid September the lake algae blooms making the lake unavailable for wading or swimming. The potable water is trucked in and not dependant on the lake. Has a large group site and day use area, boat launch three docks two playground areas, ball diamond, volleyball net and horseshoe pits. Day use is open in the winter for cross country skiing and outdoor rink. Great place to relax, and play.

A very family orientated campsite. All power sites now. The lake is better earlier in the summer sue to algae and weeds. Can get crowded on the weekends.

The sites are private and large. Beach was clean. Swimming area was clear of seaweed. Showers are clean. Ample sources of safe water. Blueberry Grocery Store a few miles north of the campsite has almost anything you may need or had forgotten to bring.

Lake loop trail was the only trail being maintained. Had to crawl over trees on any of the other trails.

We had a great time camping at moonshine lake! Sites are nice and private and have a variety of sizes of sites with power. Fished on the lake and the boat launch was awesome!

Very nice place even for day use, the beach, the playground and the area where a family can gather under an area protected from rain and heat of the sun. The shower area was open too when we were there so it was really great.

The campground is pretty nice the sites are very private which is great. Another bonus is firewood is free. But there’s lots of flies. Like I mean an insane amount of flies I’ve never seen more flies at a campsite I don’t understand what they’re doing or where they’re coming from it’s like we’re at a dump. But the campsite itself is very nice out houses are clean don’t stink currently the showers are closed due to Covid so I don’t know what they are like. Lots of sources of drinking water around.

I had not been back to this camp ground for a good many years! Last time I was there we were playing ball every Sunday, central peace fastball league just about every sunday!

They now have it mostly for camping and fishing, I didn't see any spot for swimming and as I remember it never was very good, even thou we did swim there. Lots of camping spots that they never had before, and a very peaceful setting.

We visited last summer and it sure brought back old memory's!

A really nice place to go for a picnic, bathrooms and paths to walk. Great all year round for weddings, family picnics or just to read a book in nature.
