Sunwapta Falls is one of those areas where the man made path and bridge does it no good. You are not able to fully enjoy the lake and canyon at its best. There are a lot of different places to go, but if you have...More

The Sunwapta Falls was a pretty waterfall that could be accessed via a short hike from along the Icefields Parkway. These falls were located south of Jasper and made a perfect place to stop. I visited in August 2017. The short trail led through the...More

Only 45 minutes from Jasper to visit this impressive waterfall. There is an upper and lower area. The upper is not far from the road. Some of the best views can be experienced from the footbridge spanning the river. This is the opportunity for the...More

The parking area is fairly close to the start of the falls trail. It was a good hiking place and the falls were gorgeous. Each stop you think it's just another falls area, but they are all so different. You will enjoy this hike.

This is a must do if you're in Jasper National Park, and it's very easy to access. It's right off the Icefields Parkway at the Sunwapta Falls Rocky Mountain Lodge. Don't park in the parking lot at the Lodge, unless you want a long walk....More

I've been to Jasper a number of times over the years and I always re-visit my favourite spots. I once again went to the Sunwapta Falls, first week of October. I love walking along the paths, breathing in the crisp mountain air, feeling the midst...More

This stop is just off the highway. We were there in early September. The falls were running good. I was afraid with it being late in the year that the waterfalls in this area would not be running good but that was not the case....More

Pretty falls hidden just off the main Ice Parkway. Ample parking. Quite busy with visitors and coach parties.

To my mind a much more enjoyable waterfall stop, than the Athabasca Falls, which are a little further along the Icefield Parkway.

Yes the parking area is right off the highway and the walk down to the falls is not vey long. Probably less then 2 minutes.
