This was a once in a lifetime experience. They provide all the equipment you need so you feel safe, and learn so much from the lovely guide. So much better than the buses. We got 3 hours of education, excitement and new experiences. I am...More

We went on the 3 hour tour with Mike our guide who had to manage a mixed English & French group. He did brilliantly. Icewalks supplied, boots, socks, hats and gloves, thankfully. Mike walked at a speed which the entire group could manage. He showed...More

With our 2 daughters (13y & 9y) we went for a walk on the glaciers. It was wonderful. We got the perfect gear in order not to get it to cold. Our guide was very well informed. We enjoyed it a lot.

We walked with Tamara, our very informed and experienced guide. Arranging the walk, meeting and setting off were very organised. Any extra kit you may require were also available to borrow. The walk started at the bottom carpark, heading onto the toe of the Athabasca...More

We did the half-day IceWalk tour and LOVED it! Peter (the passionate founder of the tour 30+ years ago) is very engaging and informative! He interacted with every member of the group (which they keep small) and was good about making sure everyone was comfortable...More

If you have any reasonable level of walking fitness go for this walking tour of the glacier over the bus every time. I gather they are about the same price and you get three hours up close with the glacier instead of 30 minutes looking...More

We booked in advance since we knew we needed to do this on our way back to Banff. It ended up being the coldest day of our trip and raining. As we got closer I was kinda wishing we booked the bus tour...LOL. But it...More

Pete was just an awesome guide on this awesome experience. We opted for the longer walk and were so glad as we got right up to the icefall. He was super knowledgeable and friendly. My teenagers loved the experience. Plus, they bring everything you need...More

I am sure you could, but I would suggest you to get a tour guide unless you feel confident that you can deal with any kind of problem that might come up during the walk. Walking on ice is dangerous to say the least, you... More

I didn't purchase tickets for the tour. I stopped and hiked in the area with my son. I would've stayed longer but I wasn't dressed appropriately. You'll need to layer, knit cap, and a coat to stay warm. It was misting and... More
