A detailed and informative collection coving the history of the exploration and settlement of the Rocky Mountains region. We enjoyed the genuine artefacts and personal stories that brought the timeline to life.. Fantastic to see the role of women in exploration and settlement being highlighted in the general collection and celebrated in the special "this wild spirit -women in the... More

We visit Jasper once a year or so and always stop in at the museum. It's small enough to see it all in a couple of hours and there are always interesting and new exhibits relating to Jasper, the Rockies or Alberta. The gift shop has a good selection of books and the staff are very friendly and knowlegable.

Interesting museum about the history of Jasper. But not very big and not that many artifacts/ exhibits on display. Friendly and helpful staff. Toilets but no café. Children wouldn't find it very interesting not enough to keep them occupied.

A small, but perfectly formed, museum giving an insight into the exploration and development of the area. Arranged in areas of interest with a very interesting video loop. I particular enjoyed the Jasper Bear cartoons!

We liked this small museum very much. We liked the emphasis on local history, including the history of the railway. Also enjoyed the special exhibit on the scientific aspects of the area.

Dr. Brian Luckman has studied glaciers in Jasper National Park for over 40 years. The museum has a great exhibit on his research in the showcase gallery until Oct 30. He gives a great history on the Athabasca Glacier and Edith Cavell/Angel glacier. This Wild Spirit- Women in the Rocky Mountains of Canada is another great exhibit currently in the... More

A small but well organized museum. One can find there lots of information about the history of the park as well as the geology. It takes 1-2 hours to explore the exhibitions, but it worth it. It will give you a better understanding and prospective about the park. They also have a nice little gift shop. Highly recommended!

Fascinating historical details, pictures, costumes, almost too much to absorb. A must to find out about the area from all areas of society.

We spend an hour there learning much about the exploration of the Rocky Mountains. The collection is nicely displayed and it was interesting to walk thru. Though it's very small it's definitely worth a stop and the visit doesn't cost a fortune.
