Quaint little gem of a museum hidden in the back of Jasper. Cost of admission was $8.00 and they allow photography. I spent about an hour touring the lovely artifacts that were displayed and reading the posters that explained the history of Jasper. I was also invited to go into the basement area to watch a 65 year old train... More

A good way to kill an hour or so, we quite liked this dinky little museum. Some really interesting information about the history of the area, and the volunteers there was absolutely delightful.

The museum was a great place to learn about the area. From the early explorers and settlers to the setting up of the train line. The time line set up of the museum was a great walk through. The ladies were very knowledgeable and able to answer any questions.

Really interesting museum and small art gallery. There was a free book exchange there also. The museum had some interesting artefacts from the settlement era and great info about the early pioneers in the area.

A detailed and informative collection coving the history of the exploration and settlement of the Rocky Mountains region. We enjoyed the genuine artefacts and personal stories that brought the timeline to life.. Fantastic to see the role of women in exploration and settlement being highlighted in the general collection and celebrated in the special "this wild spirit -women in the... More

We visit Jasper once a year or so and always stop in at the museum. It's small enough to see it all in a couple of hours and there are always interesting and new exhibits relating to Jasper, the Rockies or Alberta. The gift shop has a good selection of books and the staff are very friendly and knowlegable.

Interesting museum about the history of Jasper. But not very big and not that many artifacts/ exhibits on display. Friendly and helpful staff. Toilets but no café. Children wouldn't find it very interesting not enough to keep them occupied.

A small, but perfectly formed, museum giving an insight into the exploration and development of the area. Arranged in areas of interest with a very interesting video loop. I particular enjoyed the Jasper Bear cartoons!

We liked this small museum very much. We liked the emphasis on local history, including the history of the railway. Also enjoyed the special exhibit on the scientific aspects of the area.
