The Galt is a wealth of information about Lethbridge and the surrounding area. Every week they have drop in talks by various well informed historians of the area.

The museum isn't just a place for tourists but also locals! They run great kids programs every Saturday that are included in your $30 family membership! It's amazing! Plus their permanent exhibits are always fun to check out, very child friendly.

Honestly, what is in this place anyway? The exhibits are woefully meagre and could have easily fitted in a place 1/10th this size. This seems like one of those prototypical municipal money pits where the city builds a grand palace to its cultural aspirations but ends up providing very little of tangible value to the visitor. If you want to learn the history of Lethbridge this is the place to go. They have a great interactive play/learn area for the kids. The gift shop has many different gift items for all ages.

Very nicely done with many dioramas of the history and times of Lewis and Clark and their discoveries. Local Indians of the day and how they helped Lewis and Clark. Wonderful looking rooms showing how things looked way back when and the hardships they had to endure. Very impressively done.

My wife and I visited the museum on Labor Day. The outside of the museum appears rather small, but they managed to pack a lot of content into the space they have. The main exhibit is the Discovery Room, a multi-faceted collection of different stations, each explaining an aspect of life in the Lethbridge area through history. We spent two... More
