We spent several days riding our bikes through the Naramata wine bench and it was an awesome experience that I would recommend anyone do. The KVR is quite accessible, and if you are on the road it's meandering so it's a great exercise / boozing option. Anyway, stopped at Hillside as our breakfast wine spot of choice for the first... Lots of parking in the lot, unless many tour bus's and there. The menu for the Bistro really looked good, but we where really early for lunch .Love the 2012 Cab-Franc and 2012 Pinot Noir. This place is a must see.

As drive towards the location the first thing I noticed was the structure, and it's surroundings. The building is a step back in time design and as compared to many other winery's which tend to be designed with ultra modern in mind, this structure fits so perfectly with the area it is located. As like many other winery's, the view... More

Like a number of wineries the food is probably a little more expensive than it's worth, but the view is tremendous. The cappuccino was excellent but too much for a normal person to eat as a starter. The cioppino was OK - the sauce was a bit thin and there weren't very many prawns. Not worth $27. The service was... More

Can't miss this winery as it is almost directly "on" Naramata Road (slight set back from the road). Had lunch there but did not do the wine tastings as had done a few earlier in the day and BC drunk driver laws are among the stiffest in the country. But, we had lunch there with their carrot soup and it... More

Most impressive structure in the Bench so far is this tall wooden edifice with a tower. Originally the site of an apricot farm, it now includes a winery and restaurant... and offers a free, self-guided tour of the winemaking facilities in the tower. Our attendant Kyle hales from Perth (city of my birth!) and enthusiastically introduced us to the winery’s... More

We went here for a nice light lunch. The food selection was limited but all the choices were extravagant. The wines were all full bodied and tasty. All the food had a suggested wine for a pairing. It was very busy however so I would recommend that you make a reservation before going to the bistro. We had the brie... More

Having been in the area for a couple days we did a couple wineries as one should. Hillside was by far my favourite tasting for a couple reasons. The first is the wine! It was fantastic and very tasty (I may or may not be sipping the Gewürztraminer as I type). The second was the lady that did the tasting... More
