Thiis is not much but well done to think that he could use this small boat as his home. Sad that he lost his life but memorial is well done.

This downtown park has a statue dedicated to mariners who've been lost at sea, flags of the Scandinavian countries and Finland honouring early mariners / settlers, a salvaged Japanese boat, a play area for little kids, seats, picnic tables, drinking fountains, and public toilets. Something...More

Worth a short visit. A nice area for kids to place, lovely views over the harbour/ water. There is a memorial to lost sailors, plus a Japanese boat that was found abandoned 18 months after it and its owner left on a fishing trip from...More

This was a great park for our very young children. Also had some interesting atttractions for adults. The boat is neat to see. Nice to look out at the ships anchored. And free is always great.

Small information booth memorial located in a nice greenspace with children's park attached. Street parking is hit and miss but a short walk from many other locations with larger parking lots. Nice space to visit along cow bay!

Remembered hearing about the Japanese boat being found. Really nice display and memorial. The walk with the bricks was also interesting. Good to remember those lost at sea.

Stop for a minute and read about the boat under the roof. All sorts of things wash up here on the west coast.

This park is small but beautiful. The memorial walls make you realize how many people in the area have lost their lives to the sea and how many were related to each other, devastating families.
