RED Mountain is the last great, unspoiled resort. Located in Rossland, BC, along the famous "Powder Highway," RED delivers 4,200 acres of pristine skiing unfettered by overdevelopment. For 2013-14, we've added nearly 1,000 acres of...more

Although this is a long way from home, I love making this trip to my favorite ski slopes. The powder is excellent and the resort is not overloaded. The local area is small and you need to plan where to stay ahead of time.

Sorry for the delayed response, been moving around. Truth be told, Red is really an off piste tree skiing paradise. There are not many groomed runs which is a blessing to some and not to others. For advanced skiers there are probably 10 legitimate groomers of varying length along with thousands of acres of bowls, glades and bumps to explore. More Jackson Hole, Arapaho, Alta/Snowbird than Big Sky, Park City, Deer Valley, Vail or Breckenridge. Great character on three conical mountains.
