RED Mountain is the last great, unspoiled resort. Located in Rossland, BC, along the famous "Powder Highway," RED delivers 4,200 acres of pristine skiing unfettered by overdevelopment. For 2013-14, we've added nearly 1,000 acres of mostly-intermediate terrain on Grey Mountain - an entirely new peak. (Well, OK, Grey's been there for millions of years, but without runs or lifts on it.) With 300"/7.6m of annual snowfall, wide-open groomers, epic vertical (2,919ft/890m!), in-bounds cat-skiing, 360 degree descents off select peaks, a rich tradition, and - phew! - the BEST tree runs in BC, it's no wonder The NY Times voted us their #8 "Best Place in the World to Visit in 2013." Other accolades include #1 in Powder's "Ski Town Throwdown," and "Most Underrated Resort" by Skiing. Around here, we pride ourselves on fresh turns that you don't have to fight for... Aside from the legendary skiing and snowboarding, RED boasts world-class cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, movie nights and après action in Rafters, "North America's Best Ski Area Bar" according to Powder Magazine (and us...). Modern ski in/out lodging, fine dining, a professional ski school, guiding, high-performance rentals, daycare that's just steps away from gourmet espresso, and a free shuttle to Rossland round out our offering. With Rossland's turn-of-the-century charm and our legendarily friendly locals, RED Mountain Resort is the full vacation package: Everything you need. Nothing you don't. (The only fluff we offer is our snow!)

We have not been on a family vacation for a long time. The price at Red was so affordable and the amenities while there were outstanding. If you are looking for plenty of amazing skiing or boarding, you MUST go to Red.

This mountain has the most accessible in bounds terrain I have come across Being able to ski 360 degrees of the mountain is great and reduces the amount of traversing. Earlier in the season there is still a lot of rocks and ice so be careful of scratching the skis. The amount of cliffs and steep runs are amazing. Also... More

Came here for a couple of days while on vacay in Nelson. Took about 45-60 minutes. Depending on road conditions. It's a bit of a crazy drive but so worth it. Absolutely stunning area. The resort was friendly and had no line ups! The snow was nice and fluffy. The runs were challenging. Easy to get around from lift to... More

Had such a great time skiing at Red. A huge Mountain with lots of varied terrain and tree skiing and basically no lift lines to speak of! Very close to Rossland so an easy 10 minute drive up from town. We really appreciated the free Ski Host program and had an awesome tour of the mountain with Wayne, basically a... More

Great mountain and the snow was very very good over 7 days. Lift lines need an upgrade but were mostly uncrowded. A whiff of financial stress about the place with accommodation office closing a bit early for late arrivals and the staffing was mostly young folks from abroad who were not very well trained in customer relations though quite friendly.... First time skiing in RED mountain and it was a great time. A nice variety of easy, medium and hard runs with some groomed and some powder. Friendly staff and free shuttle from downtown Rossland. The lodge was nice with room to sit and the food was good.

Great location, great lodging, great service. It was also wonderful to have over a foot of new snow to ski on while we were there!

A very nice and hidden gem of a hill. close to town, with a great rental shop, where Jeff was one of the best techs I have dealt with in years. No lines, even on Boxing day!! lovely powder and great tree skiing. Also nice that they have a small kids area, and a terrain park.

Wow, beautiful Powder Ski and Snowboard mountain. A little something here for everyone. Some gentle runs as well as Double Black Diamonds. Intense day of carving the slopes. Enjoyed spending the day in the powder tree area. Enjoy the slopes too. I have skied many of the Mountain in Western Canada - I recommend everyone to try this one!
