Long Beach, the longest beach of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, spans an extraordinary 16km (10mi) along the west coast of Vancouver Island. Described by locals to be magical, you will be astonished by the amount of life that call the tidal pools home. You will be sure to find crabs, shells, starfish, sea urchins and much more. As the surf comes crashing in, you will find surfers from around the world carving through the peaks of the waves. As the water settles, it gracefully rides up the beach with peaceful trickles and shimmering light from the breathtaking sunset crossing the colourful horizon. Long Beach is truly a rejunivating getaway for all ages. Whether you're looking to kickback, explore, adventure, hike, surf, or just take one of those long walks on the beach, Long Beach has it all.

This is - as the name suggests - a long beach. Perfect for an extended walk through fine sand, looking for sea creatures large and small (wales, shells, surfers,.....). Beautiful scenery and awesome sunsets. A rather perfect experience for the romantic traveler, the beach comber,...More

There are several access points t the beach, some just off the beach, others require a bit of a walk but eh beach is worth the effort. The long, wide beach offers great shell collecting and walking opportunities on firm sand with lots of logs...More

We drove from Edmonton to see the Pacific Ocean. And we arrived at Long Beach early in the morning, enveloped in fog. The beach was quiet, though the surf was pounding. We walked and walked and walked. It was stunning and peaceful and invigorating. Our...More

This is one of the most beautiful beaches with endless sand, crashing waves, and a remote wild feeling to it. A must see to fully appreciate

We stopped here to watch the sunset and were not disappointed. A beautiful evening and a gorgeous sunset. Watched some surfers as well - this beach seems to be a popular surfing spot. Watch out for the riptide though!!

This would be a wonderful beach to visit in a wild storm. Just seeing the massive logs all along this beach, that have been washed up, is testament to the strength of the waves here and how open it is to the elements. A great...More

Nice beach. Long Beach, sand, ocean, easy access. In the National Park Reserve. Leave your drone at home (it's next to the airport and you shouldn't fly them here)

Fantastic for a romantic walk with your partner. The views are exceptional. My favourite time is the storm season, if you love angry skies and beautiful seas this is your spot!

As an American, I'm so impressed to see a mile-long beach with NO LITTER. Several people were trying to surf on Labour Day, none with much success. The water is too cold to swim without wet suits--neat to see the number of families who had...More
