The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.

A relaxing stay for a work trip
Stayed here for a day and a half meeting. The room was lovely, clean, and well appointed. The front desk staff was helpful and attentive to questions. Upon arrival, I wasn't sure where to park and had stopped to try and figure it out, a hotel worker (valet?) was out to help me quickly and gave clear instructions. During the meeting we were served breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it was delicious. Turn down service was provided and I was surprised/pleased to receive a mindfulness card on my bed (what a special touch). Housekeeping included small touches like organization of my toiletries that made returning from a meeting surprisingly calming. I was disappointed that if you are not a member you have to pay for Wi-Fi but that's a small complaint. Overall, I was impressed with the service, privacy, careful/thoughtful housekeeping, and welcoming nature of this hotel. Thank you.

    Just your typical casino
I had a positive experience. Situated near major event complexes, the location is convenient and easily accessible. On the bright side, I walked out with more money than I came in with, which is always a win at a casino. The variety of table games and slot machines, including $5 blackjack, provided plenty of entertainment options. However, there were some drawbacks to my visit. The customer service line desperately needs improvement; waiting 30 minutes to obtain a player's card due to understaffing on the second level was frustrating. Additionally, the lack of friendly demeanor from the security staff at the entrance left a negative impression. In terms of suggestions for improvement, I recommend having more staff available during peak times to minimize wait times at customer service. Additionally, for promotional events like the hat giveaway mentioned, having dedicated staff members assisting with the process could enhance the overall customer experience.

    Casino in Vancouver, BC
Nice casino, two floors but that too big—decent amount of slot machines and table games. They do give you some free play if you sign up for their rewards player program! And they have two huge bar/lounge areas on each floor. You can exchange your U.S. money here, but whatever you exchange in USD, you can only get that exact amount back (if you win) and the rest will be in Canadian money, so heads up!

    Pretty clean and no smoking
My husband and I are not really gamblers but we were walking by and we thought, "why not?" It was actually a pretty pleasant experience. It was a Wednesday at around 3:30, so no one was around. I've been to a few casinos (AC, Vegas, Europe) but this was the first one where smoking was not allowed. It was nice not to have to inhale secondhand smoke or smell stale cigarettes for a change. Everything looks well kept, and it's connected to a Marriott. Fun, quick stop! Especially since we won $40, LOL.

I had two tickets to the Justin Timberlake concert in November that had to get rescheduled to February. My host sent me a text confirmation that I had tickets to the February 15 new concert date. At other casinos when my hosts confirm something it is confirmed. Not at Parq where they are truly incompetent and have no clue how to run a casino profitably (no surprise they lost $200 million since they’ve probably managed to lose many longtime VIP players like myself due to bad management and hosts). I showed up on the 15th to pick up my tickets and was told there were no tickets for me. No one knew anything about what had happened and could only say there were no tickets left and my name wasn’t on the list. I showed them the confirmation from my host and all they could say was she no longer worked at the casino. They said they could get me tickets to another event and I said I wanted Ariana Grande. The host said she couldn’t promise me tickets to that so I simply said to her that’s fine but I can promise you that if I don’t get the tickets my play at Parq will drop to almost nothing. They are so stupid they didn’t even respond to 2 comment cards I wrote and no one from management contacted me after the host Alex assured me I would be contacted. So the way I look at it is I would rather travel 1 1/2 hrs to Washington to gamble than walk 5 minutes to Parq because I have been invited to hundreds of concerts and events, get great gifts, cash back, generous comp rooms and food and great discounts on any purchases of goods and services. Don’t waste your gaming dollars at Parq, if you are VIP level play down south. Drake and his entourage will definitely not be playing there after the way they treated him!

Arrived. Came here to have a nice steak dinner and a getaway with my husband. Checked in and was told that we where being upgraded. Upon entering the room we where given a handicap room. How is this an upgrade? Then we called the in house restaurant to make reservations for dinner only to be told that the restaurant was closed for a private event. Went to second choice restaurant and was so noisy we could not talk even though we where seated as far away from the entertainment as possible. Left went to third choice bc sports bar. Did have steak on menu but unfortunately we ordered apples and salad and everything came at once. Frustrated we went back to our room to calm down then decided to go to see the dueling pianos. No service there at all. Sat for half an hour spoke to two waitresses yet no service. Went back to casino to at least
have a drink and gamble a little but alas the where out of what we where drinking and it is only 10:00. How this hotel has the audacity to charge almost $400. A night is beyond me. Will not return and will not recommend to any friends.

I recently spent 7 nights at the J.W. Parq Vancouver, I can truly say without hesitation that my experience from prior to arriving at the Hotel to my check out was beyond any expectation I had imagined. Staff were friendly and competent, rooms and amenities well maintained and during COVID-19 well sanitized.

Joon Lee from the front desk really made the 7 days incredible, any concern or question we had he thoroughly answered with thoughtful responses, seeing his passion and work ethic for what he does in such turbulent times made the entire experience sensational. Thank you Joon.

Needless to say, we will definitely be returning to the Parq as it has become my favourite luxury hotel within Canada.

I want to give a very huge and special shout-out to Hoa who works the security at the front door. During the night I had the fright of losing who I came with (we were two females in our 20’s). I ordered an Uber and when Hoa seen me at the bottom of the stairs he immediately checked on me to make sure everything was ok, I assured him it was and I was just waiting for a cab, he let me know if I needed anything he could be the first to help. It was my first time at Parq and there was a designated pick up space for Uber drivers, so I was a little lost. I approached Hoa and he guided me down through the lobby and all the way down to the underground car park and waited with me until my Uber came. During my wait I explained to Hoa what had happened, he was genuinely concerned. He asked I write my phone number down and the description of my friend so he could contact me later in the night in case he seen anyone of this description leave. Although I was thankfully able to rejoin my friend later, Hua called me about 3 or so hours after I left Parq to check on me and make sure everything was ok. I have never experienced someone as genuinely concerned or willing to help as Hoa, and I wanted to give a massive shoutout to say that I will always remember his service and the care he showed. This is the level of service that leaves an impact on someone and spreads a positive word about a business, Hoa is a credit to Parq and I will let everyone know.
Thank you Hoa, you are an amazing person and I truly appreciate the care you have given!!!!

It's a fairly new hotel, so every thing is sparkly and new and modern. Rooms are very clean. Conference facilities excellent, and loved that instead of plastic bottled water, they have glass carafes and glasses everywhere instead.

Room was excellent, air conditioning strong, those weird mini fridges that don't have any room for your own stuff, just the computerized thing that knows if you've removed anything. Nespresso machine in room. Blowdryer. Huge shower.

People were excellent and service was extreme. This is a weird valet system at this hotel, where you can pull up and they park it, but to get your car on departure, you do take all your luggage down to the parkade yourself and get your car there. Not sure why they have it set up like that.

Didn't use casino or spa. Restaurants were all excellent, especially loved Victor.

Spread out over two floor, this casino is pretty standard with a few exceptions. It did have $5 (Candian) tables before 8 PM, which was great for those of us from the US. Though they were packed, the BJ tables had 9 (yes, NINE) spots to play so it seemed you could get in without much issue.

The sports bar was good too with $15 burger and beer and $5 Buffalo Trace shots before 5 PM.

We won a lot, myself on the tables and my wife at the slots, so we felt good about the place. But, the staff was very friendly and the non-smoking made it a little nicer for us.

We had an 8 hour layover in Vancouver and decided to take the bus tour and stop for lunch Parq. It was our first visit to the city.

Lunch at Honey Salt was outstanding and I checked out the casino. It was Monday afternoon and it was not crowded. The casino is on the 2nd floor, well lit, with lots of machines.

They quickly exchanged my U.S. dollars for Canadian and I found a penny slot machine I knew about but had not played. After about 10 minutes I was up $300.00 and called it quits.

A 3-reel dollar slot I had never seen before caught my eye. I gave it a few spins and hit aI663 jackpot. I called it quits and walked out with about $2,400 CAN after a half hour!

Any casino that charges 5% on a debit card to withdraw for chips is a no go in my opinion. As a regular gambler around the world I’ve never been charged on a debit card to buy chips and if I ever was I’d just walk. Like tonight!

This is the saddest casino I’ve even been in. It’s clear their games are extra rigged because they lost so much money since they opened. You never see anyone winning and everyone looks miserable. If you’re unfortunate enough to be trapped here, play table games. At least the staff is nice.
