A trip to Vancouver is not complete without seeing the city from the marina is a great option. Travel from the Cambie Street bridge to go along the water to end up at grandvile Island for breakfast!

False Creek used to be Vancouver's industrial inner harbour. One-hundred years later, it has been retrofit and renovated and gentrified. Some of the architecture preserves that history. What remains now is a peaceful places where sky and sea meet. Ringed with places for coffee, places to sit and look at the sea and sky change as big and small boats... More

This is another great place for a casual stroll, as the water meets the city, take a quick walk to Science World or take in the great sites from some of the nice eateries! Just take transit or your vehicle around the area!

Beautiful view at the city. Lots of bay restaurants with seafood etc. Nice, clean, calm area. I met a lot of runners there, surely good palce to clean your mind.

This is serious yacht water. Enormous, classy, sparkling white boats moored outside apartments which just have to have cost the earth. You can bob along in the wonderful little ferries and just gaze. It's fascinating stuff for a landlubber.

Great place for a stroll or jog early morning or evening. Lighted 10k route provides a excellent running route.

False Creek is one of my favorite places to go on my Vancouver visits. I like to walk its seawall --1.5 miles on the north bank and 2.2 miles on the south bank. Sometimes I just amble for awhile on the walkway, with joggers and cyclists, and other times, I walk the whole thing. Colorful maps posted at various points... More

We spent a fantastic afternoon here and rented a boat which we were able to take out along the bay. Between 6 of us it worked out cheaper than going on a boat trip and we had the freedom to explore as we wanted. Really great experience.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
