Multi-media astronomy shows in the Planetarium Star Theatre are enhanced by 20-minute live demonstrations in the GroundStation Canada Theatre that keep you up-to-date on the latest space news. The Cosmic Courtyard exhibit gallery contains a real piece of moon rock you can actually touch, a J-2 Rocket Engine, artifacts and simulations. On Saturday nights you can visit the Gordon Southam Observatory right next door and, if the skies are clear, you can see stars and maybe even a planet through the .5 metre Cassegrain telescope.

When you paid your entry fee you feel you are walking into a dated exhibit. A lot of the interactive ones simply not working or using outdated software (1990s). It was fun going into a spacesuit but the actual exhibit space was pretty small. The...More

the exhibit is small, the shows are not interesting, even the planetarium show ‘the universe’ is not that interesting... this is a tourist attraction but not impressed... it’ll take another 10 years for me to come back for another visit... just not worth the admission...More

It's not worth the effort or the fees. The discovery area is very small, and half of the hands on exhibits are broken. We were through it very quckily and then had trouble entertaining the kids until the shows started. We tried out the live...More

Thought that we would enjoy learning about space however the content was very old, videos dated, exhibits that didn’t work and an extremely small area to explore for 18.00 a person. Movie, Astroid Extreme, was mediocre.

It's a good idea to have a museum dedicated to space exploration here in Vancouver. Unfortunately HR MacMillan Space Centre is a bit outdated and has not really updated their exibits or shows in a long while. Several exhibits are not functional (ie: the one...More

As the title says, most of the exhibits are for children and the science demo also. It does have interesting parts and the Planetarium would have been very good if the display had been in clearer focus. Its quite pricey. It has no near bus...More

After having numerous visits to the aquarium, space world and other fun learning institutions in Vancouver I had high hopes for this one. The cost to get in is close to how much it costs to get into the other places that I mentioned previously...More

This is a very dated attraction and not worth the admission price. After you have done a show at the planetarium (1 hour) and live show (20 minutes) the rest of the centre can be done in under 30 minutes. Some of the interactive displays...More

Really small place, barely a museum, the only original and interesting thing is a device showing particles in live. The planetarium is not worth the price as you’ll have very low resolution artificial pictures in a poor movie, where you expect real HR photographies from...More

We visited with our boys aged 8&10. The centre is small but fun and informative. The shows are interactive and fun. We really liked the planetarium show.
