This was a fun tour with co-workers. The guide, Nadia, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the locally made food. The only suggestion is that this needs to end at the local brewery or distillery to clean the palette at the end of the tour. And do make time to go back to the vendors to purchase more.

Nadia gave a FANTASTIC tour of Granville Market for an incredible tasting tour. Samples of local and international flavours including smoked salmon bagels, breads, chai, cheese, charcuterie, chocolate, donuts, nuts, salt and bourbon flavored maple syrup. We were in a largish group of 15 and the pace was brisk but allowed enough time to enjoy the sites, sounds and smells... More

My wife and I took the Guilty Pleasures tour with guide Jenny and had a fantastic time. We started with delicious dim sum at Kirin, learning a lot about the preparation, history, and traditional practices that are involved. Jenny knows her stuff! We then walked to Urban Fare for wine and cheese, as well as a chocolate and a little... More

My daughter & I recently took the Gastown Gastronomic Food tour. We had Tracy as our guide, who is fabulous. She was so knowledgable, and obviously enjoys her job. I would highly recommend this tour whether you are a local, or visitor. Fabulous food while learning about the history of gas town.

We had a private tour with Jenny and absolutely loved every moment. We started at the Edible Canada restaurant with a delicious vegetable medley and some wine and then transitioned into exploring many of the exciting market treats. The tour offered a perfect taste of a diverse array of offerings (sausage, cheese, nuts, tea, etc.) and it was paced so... More

I recently took the Granville Island Foodie tour with my teenage daughter. Our guide was Nadia; she was engaging, very knowledgeable and an absolute delight. The foods sampled on the tour were outstanding; our favorites were the fresh (still warm) donuts and cheeses. I can't say enough good things about the tour! So good were the foods that we went... This 3 hour tour was a great way to get to know some of the restaurants and the Gastown area of Vancouver. The guide, Lisa, took us to 4 different restaurants, each with a different taste, course, style of food. She told us a bit about the history of the area. It was well organised and there was plenty to... More

Just take this tour already! Nadia our guide is a private gourmet French chef and deeply knowledgeable about and excited by the great food on offer in the Granville market and Vancouver. She not only shared great food with us at the market, she also made recommendations for dinner (Pizza Nicli) and desert (Thierry’s) that were top notch, and made... More

I live in Maple Ridge, the outskirts of Vancouver so I am not very familiar with Granville Island. I have always loved the vibe of the island, with its many colours and sounds but the public market has always overwhelmed me as there is many vendors to choose from. Jenny our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, she led... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
